Save 31%: As of Sept. 28, the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is on sale at Amazon and Best Buy for $89. That’s $40 off the standard price.

Creative endeavors like sketching and drawing have gone digital. Apple’s lineup of products are some of the frontrunners when it comes to using the latest tech to channel a creative streak. Thanks to the Apple Pencil, this powerful stylus can sketch, draw, and mark up documents with impressive precision.

Marked down from the list price of $129, the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is just $89 at both Amazon and Best Buy. This sale price means you’ll be saving 31% on Apple’s stylus which pairs with devices like iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini.

The second gen of the Apple Pencil features a flat edge that magnetically attaches to the Apple device you’re using to automatically pair and charge. You’re free to use the Pencil to draw, write, paint, and sketch. You can also mark up documents and take notes seamlessly thanks to the Pencil’s accuracy.

Our sister site PCMag (owned by Mashable’s publisher Ziff Davis) gave the second-generation Apple Pencil an exemplary score (5/5) with the one and only con listed as its price tag, which means this is a great opportunity to snag the Apple Pencil at a discounted price. PCMag’s review noted the pros of the Apple Pencil include its accuracy and overall feel when using the stylus.

The only downside to buying the Apple Pencil through Amazon or Best Buy is the lack of custom engraving. If you buy the Pencil through the official Apple store, you have the option of a free engraving service. However, the Pencil is full price through Apple, so you’d be paying $129 for an engraved pencil instead of $89 for a non-engraved version.

If you prefer to save 31% instead of having an engraved stylus, you can snag the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) at Amazon and Best Buy for just $89, a savings of $40.
