Monte Cox just wrote a book called The Full Monte, and it is now available for purchase. Some of you may remember that name from the earlier years of UFC, as he was a prominent manager. He managed fighters primarily from the Miletich camp, and beyond. This has the potential to be interesting.

In a 7½-year period, beginning in 1998, the UFC held 43 events and at least one fighter under my management fought in all of them. I managed four of the five UFC champions in 2006 and was considered the top manager in the sport. I also have promoted more than 500 MMA events in 17 different states. In addition to my stories and experiences, this book includes more than 200 photos by talented MMA photographer Keith Mills.

Just a heads up for fans who either lived through that era and want to know more, or for newer fans who want to take a deep dive into the past. I was reading another MMA related site, and ran across this, so I thought I would drop this here. I will be interested to read a book report if anyone gets it, McCorkle style.

Edit: It looks like you can get signed copies for a few more days. This is from Facebook:
It has taken 3 years but I have finished writing my first book: “The Full Monte.”Almost 400 pages of my experiences in a 25-year mma career as a promoter & manager. An additional 300 photos, a majority of them by veteran photographer Keith D. Mills.

Signed copies are available in advance until May 31. Cost is $19.99 a book and priority shipping (3 business days) is $9.50.

Order by email at fiteiowa@aol.com or mail at 49105 Morning Glory Dr., Macomb, MI 48044 or by Venmo at @monte-cox-1

Books will arrive and be mailed by last week in May.

The combination of the title of the book, his name and images of shirtless UFC champs is clever.

Another good name for his book could be "Human Cox-fighting"

That sounds pretty interesting; might have to give it a read. I’m blanking; who is the dude between Hughes and Miletich?

He’s damn tall. Can’t believe he used to get bullied at MFS (if I recall right).
It's because he was unskilled, uncoordinated and just flat out goofy when he joined, compared to the likes of Hughes who he is clearly much more skilled. Being tall doesn't detour people from bullying especially when they see your skills in fighting.

Very true. Just the mental image of Matt Hughes picking on Tim Sylvia is a tough one for me to conjure up.

That’s what I thought at first; I didn’t know how much time (if any) Rich spent at Miletich’s.

Sidenote; I like how they chopped Big Tim off at the knees so he was almost the same height as Little Eagle.
Chapter 25 is "Rich Franklin" so I'd guess there's some connection to Cox. Probably managed him?
That really is Rich. His nose looked different before Anderson did plastic surgery on him in the ring.

Edit: I'm pretty sure I remember hearing how Monte was Rich's manager, too.
