Coming in at a lean 89 minutes this movie has so much random 80sness in it it’s insane.

-Sylvester Stallone using a pair of scissors to cut his pizza for some reason.

-Stallone keeping his gun cleaning tools inside an egg carton in the fridge.

-Stallone having a pearl handed Colt 1911 with a cobra painted on it as his sidearm and a 1950 Mercury has his police vehicle.

-Brigitte Nielsen twerking with some robots.

I’d love to see the original 2+ hour cut of this movie.

I think it has a lot going for it especially in the opening 40 minutes or so, but ends up being pretty boring and doesn't live up to its early promise

It was a role Brian Thompson was perfectly cast for and he made for an intimidating villain, but he ends up feeling kind of wasted

This is a classic 80's montage for me

It does feel disjointed and random as hell with all the edits and cuts that were done to it to avoid an X rating and for financial reasons (the studio wanted it to be as short as reasonably possible so they could squeeze more showings per day out of it.)

Excellent. We need an 80s montage thread something fierce.

Had it been followed through the whole way it could have been the perfect mix of Dirty Harry and Miami Vice. As it turned out...a decent mix of the two.

The shot of the Glaser safety slugs is always a good chuckle. Most don't know it's a Series 70 Gold Cup NM converted to 9mm by Colt, specifically for the film. That film made me want a Jatimatic.

As a kid, I wanted to be a bad ass detective when I grew up. It had to do with this movie. I’d have a bad ass car, and just take the law into my hands. Well, then, I got older and realized I could, you know, get killed.

Nevertheless, I wish Sly continued with this franchise. He’s thinking about bringing it back as a series.

But I was a major fan of this song and the scene.

I see that it has already been posted but it’s such a great scene, it deserves a second post.

Being that Sly is now 78 I’d much rather see stuff like this Over the Top, Cliffhanger, etc. get sequels than wasting his time with bullshit like Samaritan and Expendables sequels.

Just watched this a few days ago and loved the total 80s vibe. His quips were great. I love the way the main bad guy dies though, so over the top.

One thing I noticed was Stallone seemed to wear gloves the whole time. Kind of weird to me, but I’m not an 80s badass.

It’s not going to be him as the main protagonist, he is the captain of the Zombie Squad.

I like it. Fun 80s movie. I liked the slasher element to Thomspons character.

And the foggy grocery store is a plus. 80s movies really like their fog.
