that's one way to kill off teenage rebellion.  if the kids see their parents doing something, then that activity immediately becomes uncool and no teenager would be caught dead doing it.

pot becomes legal, parents smoke up, and every teenager in high school stops smoking up and starts looking for something NEW to piss off their parents with....and the cycle continues, down thru the ages.

Maybe it got the parents high so that instead of helicoptering over everything they were more likely to consider what it was like to be an actual helicopter. Teens respond better to parents who don't sweat the small stuff and will even take it upon themselves to "be the adult."

/"*rips* Like, would it be sexual for a helicopter to have a pilot "inside them" if it were sentient?  What about Kitt from Night Rider?  What was going on with that?  Do you even know what Night Rider is, son?  shiat, I gotta show you this on netflix or hulu or whatever...."

When I smoked pot it was because it was fun and I like the way it made me feel. Maybe because it would have ticked off the Nuns moreso than my parents but that was minor. Then I got to a point where I didn't prefer the way it made me feel to the way I felt without it so I stopped. So there.

LOL.  Facts and measurements.

We also know abstinence-only sex education achieves the opposite of its goals.  But people still feel strongly that it works.  I don't see drug policy being influenced by actual facts from sound studies.  It will primarily be moved by activism.

Nationally legal recreational pot needs to be on the Dems platform in a few months.

Sessions will get D2S to veto it, but it will get the ball rolling for 2020.

So what about all the molesters that were molested and the abusers who were abused? When you turn 30 you wake up and discover you're your parents, enjoying scotch and mowing the lawn and suddenly having firm opinions on holding the refrigerator door open.

Teenage kids don't respect their parents and they sure don't acknowledge anything that their parents do for them.  Teenage kids blame their parents and are certain that they will be so much better than their parents.  They are completely certain that once they are out of school and out from under their parent's thumb, that they will be super successful and make lots of money.  They will be rich doing "something" because they are just so cool and good that employers are just gonna jump at the chance to hire them and promote them and pay them huge amounts of money.  It's gonna be so easy, they don't understand why their parents are such losers.  I mean all their parents have to do to be a millionaire is try.  It's like they have a 3/2 house and 2 cars on purpose, geez.

You have leave the kids something to do that ticks you off, otherwise you will never get them out of the house. NEVER. You will be 95 and they will be 75 or so. And still living with you. Sure, it is nice to have the In-House health care, but many insurance plans will pay for that.

Research on its efficacy has not been widespread or conclusive in the U.S., in large part because the Drug Enforcement Administration still categorizes marijuana in the same group as heroin and LSD, meaning that it rarely approves research into the drug.

Maybe right now would be a good time to change it's category and approve some testing before you end up with a live public test on large numbers of ...oh, too late

Fark R.E. Hearst and the DuPonts, fark schedule 1, fark Ronnie Reagan and fark George HW Bush. Fark them all right in the ass with a rusty chainsaw.

Pot is less dangerous than alcohol, less addictive than cigarettes, and we can grow it here in America. The plant Hemp can be used to make paper, cloth, compressed into building materials, helps cancer victims have an appetite, helps our warriors cope with PTSD (I know, it helped me), helps children with epilepsy, helps people with nausea, and it's only illegal because some rich people would have lost money if it were widely accepted, and that was perpetuated so the system could have one more excuse to put poors and darkies through the justice system's grinder, again, so prison owners could profit (and it didn't hurt that it kept the darkies repressed, too).

Marijuana is benign and psychedelics are divine.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Wouldn't making a plant illegal be kind of like saying God made a mistake?

Um, God had nothing to do with the criminalization of marijuana. It started with Henry J. Anslinger and seemingly ended with Nixon. Fuch them. They know shiate about this. Marijuana is a human symbiotic chemical and should be seen as such legally. It's discrimination, man, plant-based, even. The Man wants you to hate grass, b/c it cuts their profits. Fuch their profits.
