I think since the agency has been rendered toothless and the current administration has done everything in it's power to dismantle it, it's the opposite of irony.  Comeuppance maybe but there is absolutely nothing ironic about this.

Yeah, backflow preventers are for Chumps anyway.  Who doesn't like a little sewage backup in their freshwater supply every once in awhile?  It helps build the immune system!

I think the right thing would be for Scott Pruitt to go right down to that drinking fountain and quaff down a couple of mouthfuls of perfectly safe drinking water, you know, to put the lie to what the fake media has to say.

Sometimes the changing, evolving world that we live in confuses and frightens me, too. Then I remind myself that if I'm the one shaking my cane at the young whippersnappers with their twatter or whatnot, I'm the idiot who can't accept the present reality.

Indeed. I long for the days when we would have been waiting 72 hours to have a 50 comment thread about a 500 word article on this amusing but largely inconsequential event. And I miss the "Old News is So Exciting" guy that would inevitably get posted.

I don't know why people persist in thinking that God (or gods) must be benevolent.  Mebbe he is (or they are) real assholes.  If in fact there is a deity.

Nothing new. I worked at the Federal Center in Lakewood Colorado while working on Superfund prosecutions in the mid 1990s. They shut down all the water fountains in our buildings due to the high lead content.

Yes, it is irony. When the agency in charge of things like clean drinking water can't provide clean drinking water, that's irony. When that agency gets gutted by a bunch of corrupt fools, and then this happens, it's just all the more ironic. The definition of irony is when what happens is the exact opposite of what is expected to happen. Yeah, we would 'expect' Trump's EPA to fail miserably to keep us safe, but we really don't think this is going to happen at their own offices.

I think in this particular case, Twitter works for the story. What more do we need? The drains backed up at an EPA building, the shiat is black as fark, and it's gotta stink to high heaven. This use of Twitter seems appropriate, I don't really see that we need anymore from the story than what the Tweet provided for once.

1. What I
2. really
3. hate is
4. when
5. some asshole
6. Whose job
7. description
8. says "journalist"
9. decides that
10. a bunch

13. totes the

19. a coherent
20. news article.

Because that's what those 40 part Tweets are about. These journalists can't actually put together paragraphs, so they just take the lazy way out and type up a bunch of single sentences and post them in successive Tweets.

I'd rather read a 1 sentence tweet which actually has information than a long winded article about the life history of people I've never met/heard, of that takes pages and pages to get to the point. Seems that "journalism" is either one or the other these days. They don't dig up relevant details, and conciseness has gone the way of the dodo.
