Did not read the article.    But when the South lost,  a number of Confederates moved to Canada (as well as the Bahamas and other places).

Side note:  I have very distant cousins in Canada that are descended from "Runaway Ben" Milliken.  A loyalist in Maine who had to high tail it to New Brunswick to avoid a lynching of some sorts.  His son, my ancestor stayed and his grandson would wind up dying at Vicksburg on the Union side.

Jefferson Davis bravely had his family live in Montreal during the civil war - then bravely lived there himself after victoriously surrendering.

Canuckistan - final destination of slaves on the underground railway AND their former oppressors.

Nordstrom only sells clothing, for the most part.
And Amazon doesn't carry much of what they offer (I've tried).

That won't happen.  Just the public displays of it.  The people still hanging on won't let go until they die, and it seems to perpetuate among their children over the generations(considering every Civil War veteran and child of the Civil War is long dead).  Granted, I think it's perfectly fine at a Civil War museum/battlefield/etc to have symbols of the competing sides(eg Pickett's Charge happened here), as that is part of the fabric of our history, but we don't need random plaques for Jefferson Davis in Montreal.

Ah, liberal enlightened Canada!

Where many slaves on the Underground Railroad found freedom, where tens of thousands of children were falsely labeled as mentally handicapped and confined to orphanages for profit, where hundreds of thousands of native children were forcefully separated from their families into the 1970 to eliminate their language and culture, where natives and mixed-race peoples were 2% of the population but 25% of those forcibly sterilized under eugenics laws passed during the progressive era and still enforced long after other nations abandoned such policies.

For the record, I agree. It's a much bigger problem than monuments in parks and squares. But confederacy-worship is a branch nearer to the root of this problem, on which these public monuments are leaves. We may prune it for now. Hopefully, with repeated treatments, it will begin to whither and we can lop it off in whole eventually.

Yep. You can't find a White majority society on the face of the planet without a history (or ongoing status quo) of racial atrocities. Others do it too but we devils have raised it to the level of a business plan.

Ah the family annals that will forever blame their family's downfall on their free labor going and getting rights.  Yup proudest part of their history was when Great-great-great-granpapy went out and caught a .68 lead ball in the stomach and then proceeded to digest his lowers while fighting to keep the minimum wage 0.

That Confederate stuff is about as real as the $12 Coach bag you gave your wife.

All this stuff is from the 1917s era, about the time of "Birth of a Nation.". Then you have the "Ten Commandments" decorating statehouse lawns as the promo for that movie.

Inside the statehouse are cast extras left over from the promo code the tv series "BrainDead."

I find their claims of Heritage a little disingenuous when sounds like they were putting this crap up in any location that would have em. I mean Canada has no culturally historic reason to have monuments to the Confederacy and neither does Baltimore so WTF reasoning could the DOTC have for putting them up (in the Late 60's) if not as a menacing reminder that White supremacy was alive and well?

No one is outlawing anything, we are no longer going to use tax payer money and land to celebrate people who started a war against our nation with the only reason being they wanted to continue to keep people as property.
