I think this is a great accomplishment, but I also think that people who attend UConn women's basketball games and are not students or friends of/related to the players are strange people. What's the point of attending a sporting event if you know the outcome?

All I can say as a lifelong resident of eastern Connecticut is as much as I love this place, I will never love it as much as our old people love the lady Huskies. Buicks and CPTV tote bags descend upon Gampel Pavilion for a contest that is one sided enough to never rile their elderly hearts.

The thing that bothers me is the men's basketball team is pretty much completely ignored.

You're on the same farking campus, why can't you coach both genders just as well? Now that'd be impressive, BOTH men and women's team doing well.

They both won the NCAA tournament in the same season not too long ago.

I was in Philadelphia when the women's finals were held there. People kept asking me, "Are you from Yukon?" and I would answer "No, I'm from Manitoba." Took a while to figure out why they then muttered something about ignorant Canadians.
