In Hyrule, diamonds can be very hard to come by. If you have come across one, don't just go and sell it for 500 rupees – because you'll need one to replace some of the better weapons in the game, like the Boulder Breaker and Great Eagle Bow. Luckily, there's a foolproof way to get them.

Trading with Ledo

If you've spent any time mining, you'll have noticed that Luminous Stones are the most common result. You can always sell them for 70 rupees, but hopefully you've got a few saved up, because you can trade them for diamonds.

Make your way to Zora's Domain, and find Ledo just south of the Ne'ez Yohma Shrine. Give him 10 Luminous Stones and he'll give you a Diamond. The first time you make the trade, you'll get an extra diamond.

If you need some more Luminous Stones but don't know where to find any ore deposits, or you need some mining equipment like an Iron Sledgehammer, head over to our guide to getting rupees quickly.

Trading with Pirou

You can find Pirou at the Gerudo Canyon Stables. He's a Rushroom addict, and will trade you a diamond for 55 of them.

Shrine quests

Both the Ancient Rito Song and Bird in the Mountains shrine quests will lead you to chests containing diamonds.
