I thought Askren was retiring? Honestly, I'd love to see him fight GSP. They are both fighting at 185 currently and roughly the same age. Askren is a bit bigger and has a better wrestling pedigree but GSP is, well GSP.

He essentially is; the odds of him getting the only fights he would take are slim to none. He has said the only fight he would take would be a fight that proves to the rest of the world that he is #1 and nothing else.
So basically he left the door cracked to fight GSP or the champion (but he refuses to fight Woodley so he would have to lose the belt).

Askren would have his way with Woodley easily. I think GSP would be too good for him though. GSP is more complete although Askren has been finishing guys for the last few years and has some wins over top Bellator fighters, I think GSP is simply the best.

Askren should have been in the UFC ages ago. A waste of a talented guy. Dana had a major hate on for him.

Askren beats most of the WW and MW guys in the UFC. There are a few top guys that would be too much for him (Rockhold, Weidman, Romero, Jacare, Whittaker, GSP) but he wrestlefucks the rest. He is essentially a better, bigger, stronger version of Jake Shields.
