i'm a huge fan of amateur wrestling, and followed Pico throughout his wrestling career. I had a bad feeling about his debut, because he was matched with too experienced of an opponent, and being a savvy vet has it's place.

Round two for him in Bellator is a similar situation, with a guy who literally has 10 times as many professional fights.

So, if Pico loses...what is next? A newcomer? Another vet, but maybe with a losing record? The unemployment line? This is a guy Coker called a blue chip prospect.

He's only 20 and MMA is pretty forgiving when it comes to losses. If a decorated amateur boxer loses his first two pro bouts his chances of making real money are basically over.

If Pico loses tonight i'm guessing he takes his nice lump sum of money and returns to trying for the Olympics

Do you think his performance matters? Fight one was a straight up ass kicking...if fight two is, I think we won't see him on the big stage for a while.

Got the ko but they picked a guy who don't have training partner's , thats pretty weak even for bellator.

Pico's a small lightweight, but a good sized featherweight, which should help.

U gotta respect the balls of this kid. 7-2 for his debut 7-3 for his second fight.

Gotta respect the confidence for such a young kid. Reached with some of his strikes but he wasn't scared to throw or get hit.

Gotta respect that shit

Nice KO but honestly I'm not impressed, his striking leaves him waaay too open. I see any top contender finding his chin with ease as of right now.

Sweet KO, but for someone who has boxed a lot, he has almost zero defense. On his KO shot, the other dude just missed tagging him. Also, when he was teeing off on the fence and the other dude was blocking almost all of them, he almost got tagged a few times.

Maybe someone like Chris "Cassius" Foster next?

Makes no difference if he's winning or losing in his second pro fight. Being signed to Bellator and so hyped up is a double edged sword for him, he's being paid but insignificant early career fights are being massively scrutinised. We won't know much about him until he has at least 5-6 more MMA fights and matured fully into a grown man.

Did he kill that guy? sheeyit...

Dude was 7-3

Pico was 0-1 really, think about that.

Bellator gets shit for giving him a 7-2 debut because it's too tough.

Bellator gets shit for giving him a 7-3 because it's too weak? I don't get it.

the guy was 7-3 pico was 0-1
Don't mean to take anything away from his ko white knight, I imagine there's a bunch of 7-3 fighters out there fighting without training partners and none of them are main stream for a reason.
A 7-3 person who trains themselves is not the same caliber prospect as 0-1 pico
