Maybe in the nonsensical mainstream commercial appeal money fights-first climate that is WME era UFC this makes "sense." But under no other circumstance, especially not rankings-wise does this make any bit of sense. One is HW and at his age has no business trying to abuse his body to cut down to 205. The other is a natural LHW and while he fought at HW in kickboxing, has no business trying to fight much larger men under MMA rules at his age. I know you're trying to go off this angle that the two have "history." They're former training partners and onetime rivals in the K-1 ring. But say what you like about Reem's "chinny-ness" size matters even more, especially in MMA. Reem would absolutely bully Saki around the cage if they fought at HW or catchweight. And it's not happening at 205 because you'll never find Reem trying to cut that much weight ever again especially since the IV Ban. This fight stays in the clinch, Reem wins. This fight goes to the ground, Reem wins. Saki's best chance is to land big and land early. But it's still a really pointless fight that doesn't do a whole lot for either's career. Reem wants to make one more HW Title run and Saki seems serious that he wants to make a run for greatness in the LHW Division. Saki is unranked at HW and Reem is unranked at LHW. Like I said, no real gain from it for either man.
