I'm sorry if you've never seen Rocky III and I give away a part of the movie, but deal with it. If your'e over 15 and never seen any of the Rocky movies, you've failed.

I love Rocky III but I hate how Stallone had Mick dying right before the fight because it gave the audience the sense that if Mick had lived, Rocky could have won.

Earlier in the movie Mick says to Rocky, "You can't win. This guy will kill you to death inside of three rounds !" and that is what happened. I know it's just a movie, but movies can be analyzed and interpreted.

Given how laid back and un-serious Rocky trained for that fight, I think even if Mick was ring side for their first fight, Clubber would have destroyed Rocky. He was just hungrier.

yes, would have taken a little longer if Rocky was focused, he had to go to Creed to get some rhythm

Agreed. He lost the eye of the tiger.

I think what motivated Rock was Clubber coming on to Adrian.
"You look mighty cute in them jeans. Why don't you come on over here and fuck me up the ass."

Wait, that was Eddie Murphy as T

Yes. Clubber still would have won. Rocky III is my least favorite of the Rocky movies. Too much campy melodrama.

Yes, because Rocky wasn't focused in their first fight and didn't take the fight or training seriously.

What doesn't make any sense in the rocky movies, which I love, is how there was no Balboa/Creed III or Balboa/Lang III. The sports greatest fighters that produced the sports greatest fights didn't have rubber matches??? Nonsensical.

Of course but that would've made it a short movie.

Ran across this and thought it was pretty cool.

So what happened to Rocky's eye injury from the previous movie?

What doesn't make any sense is that there was a white HW boxing champ lol.

Yep, no way Rocky would have one the first match with or without Mick and the trauma of him dying. If Mick lived, I doubt he would have started training with Apollo, so I'm also giving him a L on the rematch.

Did you watch Rocky training with the soap bubbles flying around?

Mickey could have got him to round four or five maybe, but he was losing no matter what.

Technically there was unofficially a Balboa/Creed III, it was just behind closed doors with only the two of them knowing it took place. Fight took place inbetween Rocky III and IV. It was Creed's reward for helping to train Rocky for the rematch with Lang.
