Both are probably the 2 best of all time but the fact that Jones had to use steroids to beat DC the first time and it wasn't even impressive kinda gives me the reason to believe Jones just can't beat DC without PEDS. Jones is rusty and has most likely relied on peds majority of his career and will be clean come Saturday.

Everyone says DC is old but ignore the fact that he started mma late in his life, he doesn't have much mileage and is young in the fight game. In no way has he slowed down, he dominated and finished prime Rumble twice and beat Gus decisively while Jones arguably lost to Gus. Some can say Jones slowed down and peaked years ago, Jones last finish was Chael and since then has struggled with every fighter he's faced.

The first fight was really competitive despite what biased fans say on here, DC pushed Jones for the first few rounds until he gassed, you can say DC only gassed because he fought emotionally. I think without the PED advantage, Jones will get wrecked. DC has been active and improving whiile Jones has been on suspensions.

Jones looked like complete shit against a gatekeeper in OSP

During the interview the other night as well as the press conference, DC seemed confident and won over the crowd while Jones was emotional and shook. DC is balls deep in his head.

Rampage once said that Jones is a guy you have to fight twice. Jones has never had a rematch so DC already being in the cage with him gives him a better chance to improve and figure him out.

I think come Saturday will all we realize just how much better DC is than Jones without his advantage.

5 reasons why he does beat DC:

- Physical advantages
- fight IQ
- superior stand up
- better wrestling
- better at cheating (eye pokes).

And, add in the fact that Jones has been in DC's head since the beginning of time.

Jon 48-47 UD.

DC actually has better wrestling and boxing. All jones has is size and that's it

Highly doubt it.

Had never been touched his entire career, lost once, and has been dropped twice and nearly finished and rocked in his last 4 fights.

How did he struggle, with Glover,Osp,or Cormier.

Won every round and did Osp even land a strike?

The most likely outcome is Jones finishes dc and dc retires.

Very good chance that you are right about all of this. I think DC did way better in the first fight than people are giving him credit for. Also of the two fighters I see DC having the best chance at improving their performance in the coming fight. I am certain that DC overlooked Jones in the grappling department in the first fight. I am confident he can make adjustments to that and be the better grapple in the second fight.

I also think that DC had the better hands in the first fight although some of the combinations Jones was throwing were hard for DC to deal with ie oblique kicks and hand strike combos that were pretty effective. I think dirty boxing and take downs and the threat of take downs are the key to DC dominating via striking. He could easily get a TKO in this fight and really IF he can just avoid taking heavy body shots his cardio will hold up (assuming he has his cardio in place coming into the fight). I think he will and losing cardio in the last fight played a big role in the loss.

I think present day DC can beat Jones from the first fight but like you said there is every chance that Jones is rusty, off of PED's and or psychologically ruined by all the turmoil in his life while DC is obviously in a better place than he was before.

Good post.

Huge DC fan, but I can definitely see the line of argument why Jon wins here, and I'm inclined to believe it.

Better wrestling lmao he got tooled last time

Dc has nothing for him still. in anyway shape or form.

D.C.'s getting taken out to the pasture Saturday and put down

You're guys hate for jones is warranted but don't let your hate make you blind.

Jones beats his ass and makes him look silly

Yeah, I didn't think that jones looked "bad" either. The fight was lackluster, but Jones didn't look bad at all. Won every minute of the fight.

He did look good, we have to give credit where credit´s due.

But that´s 3 weeks notice OSP so everybody was expecting Jon to completely annihilate him.... and OSP was fighting with a broken arm since round 2 and Jones still couldn´t finish him, that´s why a lot of people are saying he won´t be able to finish DC.

Despite my unchanging stance as a JBJ fan, I agree with a lot of your points and will admit to an edge of nerves for this fight. I think DC is an excellent fighter and will have learnt a lot from their previous encounter, not to mention his continuous activity against recent top contenders in the division.

It will be a very interesting fight and I for one cannot wait.

And, add in the fact that Jones has been in DC's head since the beginning of time.

I think despite the contested status of your previous points, this is the one I agree with most. Jones completely shut down all of DC's offensive game in the last outing. Even his wrestling, an area which many pitched DC as the favorite. I feel despite JBJ's lay-off, DC has more to overcome in the mental game than Jones at this point.

DC actually has better wrestling and boxing. All jones has is size and that's it

Well this is clearly unproven given the fact that Jones out-wrestled and out-striked DC in their last fight. If you're referring to their current skill set since that fight, you have nothing to base your claim on. We will just have to wait and see who is better on the night.

By memory I feel that DC simply had nothing for DC in the first fight. It went the distance sure and he may have had some minor moments, but I don't remember any time I felt that Jones had lost control of the fight or was in any real danger... not like the Vitor near-armbar situation anyway!

But I do agree that DC is a great fighter and he had an opportunity to learn from mistakes in the first fight.

It's going to be a hell of a fight!

Keep telling yourself that D.C. has a chance. It will make your freak out on Saturday even funnier.
