He did it a 42 minute interview and I searched for the quote in the search engine but couldent find it but at 34:15 he talks about getting rich fast and getting out of the fight game as quick as possible because he loves martial arts training but doesn't like pro fighting all that much and is concerned with the health effect of price fighting:

If you have the talent, it's the best approach.

Smarter than he looks.

I really didn't even have to hear him confess that to know that was his intention get rich quick & split. Unfortunately for Conor he's going to come up against men who's values are to be the very best and enjoy the money and the prestige that comes with being known as the very best.

Well, I hope he'll stay for a little bit at least.

He is actually very insightful when it comes to breaking that martial arts techniques and has good thoughts on how to approach things in a rational manner. His gimmick makes him seem like an idiot.

Cool interview from 2014..

I don't get the point of your post Rational Poster...

Smart. No one can deny that he is doing his job to maximize his pay checks.

Who could blame him? Shit, even training for MMA is fucking terrible on your body.

Yeah, because you can read minds....

Better than stay too long and have no money.

Sometimes it is smarter not to actually say that as it makes the hype a bit more hypey if you will. But it absolutely is the smartest approach. Kind of basic common sense but for him he has the marketing ability to make it much more possible. DC said almost the exact same thing but added his age as a factor too. But who wouidnt want to be financially independent as early as possible?

I want Aldo to destroy him and probably anybody else but I sincerely hope he achieves his financial goals. I may not want to see him rewarded in the ring but as a businessman he came in with a plan and put the work in. More power to him.

I think for the more richer fighters we will see them leave the sport in their early thirties like GSP. Sure some will get hooked on the money like the dudes 40+ and still going but fighting for 15+ years into your forties is very very unlikely to lend itself to a healthy post fight life.

No because he talks of money & possessions all the time more than he talks about being known as one of the best fighters. You don't gotta be no mind reader to infer the mans real goals & intentions.

Despite his idiotic antics on stage, Conor is actually a very intelligent guy. He knows how to promote a fight and knows that at the end of the day, making the most money for yourself in the UFC is the most important goal. The guy is playing a character when he makes faces and screams, and fans eat it up. With all that being said, he's not gonna get past Aldo. He'll have his big payday in July and walk away.

He probably already views himself as an establish elite star even though he has had so few fights. You see boxers (some in their mid twenties like Amir Kahn and Andre Ward) already talking about their retirements. Sort of a "catch me while you can" sort of way to promote. I am thinking this will make it into MMA and it's what Anderson was doing (before all the shit went down obviously).

If that's his goal, he's doing a very good job of reaching it. His mouth is going to get him the cash and Aldo is going to get him out of there quick.
