After Ellenberger's loss to Rory MacDonald, he made the worst decision of his life and went to train at Glendale Fighting Club with Edmond Tarverdyan. Under Edmond's tutelage, Jake's striking regressed to the point where he started taking the worst beatings in his MMA career. IMO under Edmond's training, that's where Jake got his chin cracked. By the time he realized his mistake and went back to Kings MMA under Rafael Cordeiro, the damage was done and his fate already sealed.
While he has the skills to be competitive, he won't be a champion and that chin is super suspect in every fight that he's in. I don't know whether he should retire at this point, but if I were him I would take a long look at myself and consider his options.
