Soooo, I expect zero responses to this thread, but thought I'd test my luck with Sherbros.
As those who know my penchant to waste time in the War Room, two of my favorite topics are politics and economics. And one of my favorite past times is being a bit of a wanderlust. When I travel to foreign lands, I always make sure to keep the most crisp banknote of every denomination available.
I love the history attached to bank notes so I thought I'd share some of my faves.
The number one country I think of when I think about currency is the island of Mauritius. The reason being is the diversity of the people on their notes:
The 25 rupee note has a taiwanese type dude, the 50 is the classic pasty old white man, the 100 note features Renga who I believe was of East Indian lineage who studied and lived in England. The 200 features Mohamad Abdool Razack a sufi Muslim of hoity toity Memon decent, the 500 is an egyptian looking Mauritian dude, and the 1000 belongs to a Christian Gaetan Duval. Lastly the 2,000 rupee features the Hindi physician Seewoosagur Ramgolam.
