Guys like Jon Fitch, Ryan Bader, and Rory Mcdonald all have one thing in common, they have a lot of UFC fights. The lower level guys don't get much but the vets make bank off of Reebok.
  • Jon Fitch: 18 fights
  • Ryan Bader: 20 fights not including TUF (1 fight away from pay bump)
  • Rory Mcdonald 13 fights

These guys just simply weren't worth $10,000-20,000 per fight in Reebok money alone. It's also probably the reason Demian Maia didn't get the title shot and could be on the chopping block next as he has 24 fights.

And you wanna know who the king of Reebok money is with 28 fights and who isn't going nowhere?

THAT'S what's up.

So Reebok is pushing the UFC to cut fighters because they don't want to pay out more?

If Rory and Bader were serious title challengers, they'd have been re-signed by the UFC. Reebok has zero to do with it.

Uhhh.... no...

The UFC get the money from Reebok, and then share it out how they want between the fighters.

The UFC arn't paying a guy (Bader) 61k/61k and then cutting him because his sponsor money just went up 5K :)

They just hit their ceilings, with the exception of Rory. Bader isn't getting any better with each fight. Fitch was never a huge draw and was already rapidly declining. Rory hadn't evolved much over a couple of fights and doesn't have much killer instinct. He's still fairly young though. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the UFC after some more fights and some draw power.

Troof. Think about it... what's the answer to 99% of all questions?

answer: (one word) Reebok Money.

It is all about money.........but WME's money not Reebok.

Dana thinks he is Nate Diaz with his appearance on Conan.

Reebok would want their name on the best fighters, the fighters that people want to see. You think 5k is gonna convince them to toss big names to pay some other no name less money? You don't know the power of advertising.
