Boxing clearly needs Conor more that MMA does...

It's crazy how much has changed in the last decade that a 115lb female MMA fighter like Joanna headlining a UFC card would probably outsell arguably the most exciting fighter in boxing.

Haha. You know your sport is down and out when Mighty Mouse outsells your second biggest star.

GGG is too Asian for boxing fans.

If Floyd fight falls through I like Conor vs JCC sr or De la Hoya. Conor could make 50 million for fighting those geezers.

Conor will bring boxing one huge fight, which is going to make mayweather and the UFC money. Then when Conor is not competitive nobody will pay to watch him box again. They need an actual boxer to capture the audience like a mayweather or Pac.

It was a good card too, co-main and ME were both very good fights. The funny thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if GGG made more money than MMA fighters make headlining a card that sells 1 million PPV's.

What boxing really needs...

Except for a few MMA fighters I think you'll be right.

GGG main audience isnt north america that is why is PPV view sales are low. in europe, russia and asia it is on broadcast or cable with big commercials and sponsors. same with the klitchko brothers.

BOxing problem all the stars don't speak English. Ggg/canuelo/etc. don't think South Americans buy ppv

Just looked it up, GGG made $2.5 mil and his opponent made $1.75mil, before sponsorship and PPV splits. I imagine their sponsorship was much more than Reebok pay but their PPV split couldn't have been that much. Other than Conor, Brock, Nate in the rematch, and probably Ronda, I'm pretty sure both made more than any other UFC fighter.

I live in Europe, and I can tell you he's barely on the radar in my country, i'm probably the only person in my circle of friends who know who he is although i'm sure you are right that in certain areas he's quite famous.

GSP makes bank along with GTA Jones.

Golovkin will pocket $2.5 million to Jacobs’ $1.75 million, not including PPV points and whatever sponsorship money each side will be receiving. The $1.75 million for Jacobs tops his previous career-high of $1.5 million.

Yep 150k PPV buys in boxing gets you 2.5 mill + sponsors that sure as hell aren't 2k Reebok.

UFC is screwing our top guys just the same as they are screwing the low to mid guys.
