Why are PED users so accepted?

its always confused me that in MMA you can be caught using PED's/TRT but then it's almost instantly forgotten about and people don't seem to think negatively of you in this sport even if you get caught.

In Football (Soccer) or even someone like Lance Armstrong get caught out it taints their whole career, all their previous victories etc.

Yet people like Anderson Silva, Josh Barnett, Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort are all fighters we respect and would pay to see despite the fact it's possible their records might be very different if they hadn't cheated?

Brock Lesnar fails USADA testing yet we all can't wait to see him come back in July and will pay for the Ppv.

What is the deal? Why does getting caught cheating in MMA not really seem to alter a fighters career or the fans perceptions of said fighters like it does in other sports?

its accepted because it is a given most pro athletes are on SOME PEDs, in a contest to see the best fighter, anything that contributes to the best performance be allowed.

even more fair to ask "Why do somme of you care about PEDs so much?"

for example when someone says "how would _________ do in the UFC?" and the reply is "they cant get past USADA"- that to me is a shitty situation- it leaves a question i want to see answered.

some of us want to see who is the best, not the cleanest.

Does it really hurt you very bad in other sports nowadays? Von Miller was caught cheating and he's on television commercials.
 
Probs a lot who did and a lot who are clean like bisping always bleats on about being.

Just some get caught.
Then it so happens that some are guys we have been fans of so you try and reason in your own mind and make exceptions.

I did it with Barnett. Huge catch fan and a fan of him.
He had his collar felt and had to......Take his medicine (sorry)..

There's a thread on the first page of Sherdog asking if Bisping is the GOAT MW. Half of the people on it dismiss Silva (the obvious MW GOAT) because of his failed PED test.

Who is giving these guys a pass?
 
secondly, dont you see the flaw in your point?

Silva, Hendo, Vitor- all fought each other. so the playing field was equal. PEDs werent a factor.

Hendo took TRT when it was legal and stopped using it when it was banned. How is he a cheater?
 
Less old people are MMA fans. I think younger people are more accepting because they haven't been as brainwashed about PEDs.
 
peds should be legal in mma anyway.

For those specific fights it was, but Bisping has also fought those guys and never been caught for anything? So it wasn't an equal field.

even BJ, onne of the biggest whineers around has a USADA violation.

Several fighters, like Rampage (whom im betting as a former training partner knows more than yOU) has openly said many times that Bisping has no reason to whine about PEDs, implying he uses/used them.

more and more fighters are complaining about USADA- even Mir came out this week saying its a failure.

but go ahead and continue to think you know best- i havent seen aa shred of evidence to demonstrate USADA has helped.

all it has done is cancel fights or lower the quality of the existing fights.

It's not accepted by everyone. Getting popped automatically forever removes your name from GOAT contention, in my book...PERIOD !

If you've been caught cheating once. Chances are you've been cheating for a long time. Possibly, your whole career. Many disagree with my stance. But, alot of ppl agree with me.

If you have no problem with cheating. You have no moral center. And are likely a fuckin scumbag.

I do believe in second chances, though. You did the crime...You did the time. You paid the price. But, I will always be suspicious. And your legacy is garbage to me.

And of course...1/100 ppl that have popped will actually own it at the first opportunity. EVERYBODY IS INNOCENT. That's the shit that grinds my gears.

But, I'm not such a sanctimonious asshole, that I would try to stop you from making a living in sports.
