Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski became one of the Bundesliga's top 10 all-time goal scorers when he struck against Cologne on Wednesday. Lewandowski's 60th-minute winner took his tally for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern to 166 goals in 242 matches. That puts the Poland international level with former Cologne attacker Hannes Lohr, who took 381 Bundesliga matches to reach the total. Lewandowski is 11 goals away from the tallies achieved by Klaus Allofs and Dieter Muller, next highest-placed on the list, and 13 short of 1996 European Championship winner Stefan Kuntz. He failed to reach double figures only in his first season after joining Dortmund in 2010 and is now closing in on a century of Bayern goals, having scored 92 times in 112 matches. Lewandowski's goal rate of 0.68 strikes per match is only bettered by legendary Bayern attacker Gerd Muller, the league's all-time leading scorer, who averaged 0.85 as he scored 365 goals in 427 games between 1965 and 1979. Klaus Fischer, on 268 goals, and current Bayern interim coach Jupp Heynckes, with 220, complete the all-time top three. "During my time as a player, Robert would have been someone like Klaus Fischer or myself, but not someone like Gerd Muller," Heynckes told reporters following Wednesday's match. Cologne's Claudio Pizarro remains the leading overseas player in the scorer chart, with the Peru international having scored 191 goals in 430 matches for Werder Bremen and Bayern. He has not scored in four appearances for Cologne.
