Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic has insisted he is staying at the Westfalenstadion despite being aware of interest from Liverpool.

The 18-year-old made a rapid rise to prominence after breaking into Dortmund's first-team squad last season.

The dynamic midfielder, who can either operate from wide or in the number nine position behind the striker, played 29 times in the last Bundesliga campaign, scoring three goals.

He is widely regarded as one of the best young players around and is already a regular in Bruce Arena's United States team.

His performances have warranted interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, but unlike Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels, the young hotshot has already ruled out swapping Dortmund for rivals Bayern Munich.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has also been a long-time admirer of the American and has tried to lure him to Anfield this summer.

And with Philippe Coutinho's expected move to Barcelona, the German manager is ever more desperate to sign him as he hunts for an ideal replacement for the Brazilian.

However, despite being aware of the reports linking him with a move to Anfield, Pulisic has again reiterated his commitment to Dortmund.

'Yes, I read that too,' he told Bild of Liverpool's interest. 'What more can I say? I concentrate fully on the start of the season.

'I'm very happy in Dortmund. To be clear and concise: I do not think about changing clubs. At the beginning of the year I finally extended my contract until 2020.

'Last season, I established myself in Dortmund with a European top club, which was always my dream as a little boy.'

The Bundesliga side have recently appointed a new manager with the arrival of Petr Bosz and Pulisic is keen to impress his new boss as he plans on cementing a place in Dortmund's starting line-up this season.

'My next goal is to play consistently,' he said. 'I have no preferred position and I think I am very flexible in the attack.

'Peter Bosz sees me more playing on the outside and I can make a good friend there.'
