Chelsea expect to get their summer transfer activity going this week by completing the £35.2million signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko on a five-year contract, as revealed by Sportsmail last week.

The arrival of Bakayoko could shove Nemanja Matic towards the Stamford Bridge exit with the midfielder having also attracted attention from Manchester United, as Sportsmail also revealed.

Chelsea are also interested in signing former striker Romelu Lukaku, who could cost £100m to sign from Everton.

Lukaku has told his agent Mino Raiola he wants to leave Everton and he is keen on a move back to Chelsea, where he played from 2011 until 2014.

Blues manager Antonio Conte has named Lukaku on his list of transfer targets but Everton are holding out for £100m for their star striker.

The 24-year-old enjoyed another fruitful year in front of goal for the Toffees as he netted 25 times in the Premier League last season.

Lukaku joined Everton from Chelsea in £28m in 2014 after finding his path to the first team blocked at Stamford Bridge.

Speculation that he would soon be joining Chelsea increased when Lukaku posted a video of him playing five-a-side football on a Blues-branded pitch, although the striker later called these rumours 'bulls***' on Twitter.
