Frank Lampard believes if Chelsea tie Antonio Conte down to a new contract it would be their signing of the summer.
Conte has signalled his eagerness to stay next season but an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2019, is yet to be confirmed.
The Italian is one of the most sought-after coaches in Europe after leading Chelsea to the Premier League title in his opening season at Stamford Bridge.
ROBERT COTTINGHAM: Manchester United star Paul Pogba says he could deal with his friend Antoine Griezmann moving to City if it made the striker happy.
United had made Griezmann their top transfer target this summer but a move for the 26-year-old never materialised and he signed a new contract with Atletico Madrid until 2022.
Griezmann committed his future to Atletico after they had an appeal against a transfer ban rejected - meaning they are not able to register new players until 2018.
JAMES DUTTON: Former Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has revealed the club did not buy Dani Alves because they did not want spend their budget on a full back.
The Brazilian full back had been Anfield bound in the summer of 2006, but Liverpool were unable to match the £8million asking price.
Rafa Benitez had prioritised the acquisition of Alves, but the club instead decided to sign two players for the price of one.
SPENCER MORGAN: Manchester City have sent a trio of young players to join Dutch club NAC Breda on loan for next season.
French striker Thierry Ambrose and attacking midfielder Paolo Fernandes will play fpr the newly-promoted club next term, giving them some invaluable top-flight experience.
They'll will be joined by Pablo Mari, who spent the last campaign on loan with Spanish club Girona after signing for City last summer.
SPENCER MORGAN: Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has reassured Wayne Rooney that he will have a 'positive experience' should he move to the Chinese Super League.
The 31-year-old forward is considering leaving Old Trafford after 13 years after losing his place in the starting line-up.
He has also lost his place in the England time and a big-money move is becoming increasingly likely.
SIMON JONES: Sergio Aguero will be staying at Manchester City despite renewed interest from Paris St Germain.
The Argentine's future has been the subject of much conjecture following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, even though Pep Guardiola has continually stressed Aguero is part of his plans.
PSG are willing to offer £60million for the prolific striker but his agent Hernan Reguera said: 'There is no doubt and fear. Sergio will remain at Manchester City, for sure.
Talking to Tuttomercatoweb, Reguera added: 'There have never been any offers, they have never presented him with the chance to leave City. As I said, he is happy and will remain.'
SPENCER MORGAN: Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal heaped praise on Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, labelling him a 'spectacular' player.
Vidal, who plays alongside the Chilean at international level, told Sport Bild that the he would improve Bayern should he make the move to the German champions.
Sanchez 's contract expires next summer and he has been strongly linked with a move during the current transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers admits he expects to make just one more signing to aid Celtic’s assault on the Champions League qualifiers.
Rodgers was known to be on the look-out for roughly four players this summer and has already tied up one piece of business through the purchase of Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes.
He is also in the market for a defender, creative midfielder and striker, but believes his current squad is strong enough to be entrusted with the job of seeing off either Linfield or La Fiorita of San Marino and beyond.
Alessandro Del Piero would love to see Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo move to Juventus this summer.
Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave the La Liga and Champions League holders this summer after he was left seething with accusations that he has 'defrauded' €15million (£13m) from the Spanish taxman.
Unsurprisingly, plenty of Europe's top clubs have been linked with the Portuguese forward, such as Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
DANNY GALLAGHER: Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed Arsenal have made contact regarding their star striker Alexandre Lacazette, but insists the Gunners must stump up big money to get their man.
Arsene Wenger is looking to bring a big name to the Emirates following a season of backlash from large portions of the Gunners fan base.
Lacazette is understood to be one of the leading targets for the north London club, though stiff competition from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid is present.
MATTHEW SMITH: Romelu Lukaku has directly addressed speculation over his future after playing five-a-side football on a Chelsea-branded pitch.
Lukaku shared the video of him playing on the astroturf pitch with Chelsea badges around the side in Los Angeles, seeming to further fuel the rumours he will be returning to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The video, captioned 'bang bang', shows Lukaku scoring a powerful shot on the training pitch surrounded by his former club's logo. Lukaku was at the Urban Soccer 5 centre, a set of five-a-side pitches which display Chelsea's badge year round.
DANNY GALLAGHER: Liverpool are within touching distance of glory and have already proved themselves to be the best among the Premier League's elite in head-to-head clashes, according to Reds legend Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard, who has taken over as manager of the Under-18 side at Liverpool, believes the senior team are on the path to great things under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp.
Ahead of the coming season, Gerrard believes his former club will be among the leading pack, and admits Klopp's side have already shown what they're capable.
ROBERT COTTINGHAM: Paris Saint-Germain would be ready to pounce should Gareth Bale leave Real Madrid to accommodate the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, according to Spanish paper AS.
The paper reported that Monaco star Mbappe has been told one of Real Madrid's 'BBC' trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Bale will leave to make way for his arrival at the Bernabeu.
And Bale, who was left out of Madrid's starting XI for the Champions League final in favour of Isco, looks set to be the fall guy.
Fankaty Dabo has become the latest Chelsea youngster to make a loan move to Dutch side Vittese Arnhem.
Vitesse, who are also interested in loaning Chelsea's Mason Mount, announced on Sunday morning that the defender had completed the switch and he will play for the Eredivisie outfit for the whole of next season.
Dabo has become Vitesse's third signing of the summer already after completing deals for Thomas Bruns and Thulani Serero.
DANNY GALLAGHER: Daniel Sturridge should bring his Liverpool tenure to an end this summer and go in search of a new challenge, believes ex-Red Jason McAteer.
Sturridge's future on Merseyside remains up in the air following another season in which his game time was limited.
A spate of injuries kept the England international from playing frequently last season and, as a result, he fell down the pecking order in the plans of Jurgen Klopp.
Chelsea will find it difficult to replace Diego Costa if the striker leaves in the current transfer window, club legend Frank Lampard has said.
Costa, 28, has been Chelsea's top scorer in all three seasons since joining the club in 2014, leading them to two Premier League titles.
Earlier this month, the Spain international said that he would leave Stamford Bridge after being told by manager Antonio Conte in a text that he was not a part of the club's future plans.
ROB DRAPER: Rafa Benitez's future as Newcastle manager is uncertain after a series of transfer setbacks.
Last week, Chelsea's Tammy Abraham agreed to join Swansea on loan, while former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero has decided to move to Stamford Bridge, two players Benitez was convinced would join Newcastle.
It is also understood that Benitez is set to suffer another double snub, with Manchester City duo Fabian Delph and Eliaquim Mangala poised to join Stoke and Lyon respectively.
SIMON JONES: Tottenham have made an enquiry for Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter.
The 23-year-old may be allowed to leave this summer with Dortmund looking for £18million for a player who has two years left on contract.
Ginter, who admitted considering retirement after the terror attack on Dortmund's team bus last season, is the subject of interest from Hoffenheim also.
JOE BERNSTEIN: Former Barcelona whizzkid Bojan Krkic will be given a chance to revive his Premier League career with Stoke next season after impressing on loan for German club Mainz.
It had been anticipated that 26-year-old Bojan would depart Stoke for good after being sent out to play in the Bundesliga in January.
But manager Mark Hughes has had a rethink after receiving positive reports of the Spaniard’s form and injuries to Stephen Ireland and Ibrahim Afellay that have left him short of creative No10s.
SIMON JONES: Liverpool remain in the hunt to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
Chelsea are expected to make a £60million offer for the Holland international to prompt negotiations with the south coast club, however, the 25-year-old is still keen on a move to Anfield.
Southampton lodged a complaint against Liverpool over their pursuit of Van Dijk which was alleged to have resulted with Jurgen Klopp meeting the player in a Blackpool hotel.
JOE BERNSTEIN: Arsene Wenger has placed Manchester United winger Anthony Martial on his wish list should the Gunners lose out to Real Madrid for No1 target Kylian Mbappe.
Wenger is prepared to pay £40million for Martial, who fell out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho last season and started fewer than half of United's Premier League games.
The Arsenal manager fears that Mourinho would never agree to a deal because of the personal animosity between the two men.
