Derek McInnes warns Cardiff to 'be serious' if club plan to return with bid for Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes

- Derek McInnes said: 'I'd tell them or anybody else, be serious with your offer'
Derek McInnes has told Cardiff to ‘be serious’ if they are planning a second approach for winger Jonny Hayes.
The Dons rejected an offer for the 29-year-old on Friday — believed to be around £500,000 — from the Welsh club, as first revealed by Sportsmail.
But with 18 months to run on his current deal, McInnes feels Cardiff’s valuation of Hayes is not even close to that of the Pittodrie club.
Jonny Hayes has been linked with a switch to Cardiff who had their first offer rejected
Aberdeen turned down a bid of £500,000 and Derek McInnes told them to 'be serious'
‘I’d tell them (Cardiff) or anybody else, “Be serious with your offer” and we can get it resolved and see where it takes us,’ said McInnes.
‘If not, leave the boy alone and let him concentrate on what he’s best at.’
Hayes scored one and claimed an assist for Graeme Shinnie as the Dons saw off Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor 2-1 in Dubai yesterday.

And McInnes is adamant the Dubliner is comfortable with the Pittodrie club blocking any possible move south right now on the grounds that the deal is entirely unsuitable.
‘Jonny just wants to make the best for his own career,’ added McInnes.
‘And if a move to another club helps him do that then we just need to deal with that when it comes along.
Hayes still has 18 months remaining on his current deal at the Pittodrie club
‘But for now he’s our player and we want that to remain the case for the rest of the season.
‘I think Jonny accepts we are quite within our rights to reject that offer. We spoke to him and I think the ideal situation now is to get things resolved quickly.
‘It might be to unsettle the player and destabilise him but what it can’t do is destabilise us.’
