Paris Saint-Germain insist Marco Verratti will stay put despite admiring glances from Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain have insisted star midfielder Marco Verratti will stay in the French capital beyond this summer, despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The eye-catching Italian international is one of Europe’s brightest talents and, still just 24-years-old, has plenty of admirers looking to acquire his services.

Several of Europe's top clubs are ready to attempt a swoop for the playmaker during the summer window but PSG have other ideas.

According to L'Equipe, PSG have promised Verratti that the club will invest heavily in new signings and persuade him to stay.

The midfielder's agent, Donato Di Campli, had recently questioned the club's lack of ambition, believing PSG were not able to help his client win the Champions League.

But now talks with between the player and the club have reportedly been held and the Italian could well stay in Ligue 1 beyond the end of this season.

Verratti arrived at the Parc des Princes in 2012 in a summer move from hometown club Pescara.
