There may be new faces in Avengers: Infinity War, but the Avengers will be sticking with their original, classic lineup

Don’t expect Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to add to their ranks in Avengers: Infinity War, at least according to Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman. What that means going forward for the MCU could be very interesting indeed…

There may be suggestions of a scene with over 30 superheroes in Avengers: Infinity War but Chadwick Boseman took to Jimmy Kimmel Live (via ComicBook.com) to ensure fans that The Avengers’ roster (already stacked thanks to the new recruits glimpsed at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron) will be sticking to its guns… and hammers.

When asked whether The Avengers would look to add to the team, Boseman stated unequivocally, “No. No new characters. All the same ones.” So, no Black Panther, no Doctor Strange and definitely no Captain Marvel being officially added to the Avengers. At least not yet anyway.

Looking ahead, the news of no new Avengers would indicate that Marvel have enough faith in the new members of Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Vision, and Falcon to carry some of the slack going forward. It also partly confirms that, even though the Avengers effectively broke up at the end of Captain America: Civil War, that they probably resolve their differences pretty quickly without bringing anyone new into the mix.
