The Justice League’s opening battle looks like Lord of the Rings with spaceships

Hot off the heels of the actually-pretty-okay Justice League trailer, there’s even more info dropping. This time, it’s about the opening scene from Justice League involving a Lord of the Rings-style battle for Earth (it’s best to start off slow) – and we’ve actually already seen glimpses of it from the trailer.

During a set visit, Screen Rant got the scoop on just what is going down in the prologue for Justice League. The opening scene revolves around Parademons (which you may remember from Bats’ weird nightmare in Batman v Superman) trying to conquer Earth but being stopped by the combined might of Mankind, the Amazons and Atlantis. Spoiler: Earth wins.

Apokolips’ army leave behind three ‘Mother Boxes’ to be divided between the three armies, who all go their separate ways never to meet again… until a certain Justice League forms which sees Atlantis, the Amazons and Mankind team up again to face a very familiar threat.

The choice to frame the Justice League’s debut with an ancient war is a brave one but, as you can see from the still from the trailer below, it’s certainly going to be epic. Talk about putting all of your chips on the table.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, Justice League blasts into theaters on November 17, 2017.
