A young German tourist plunged 262ft down a cliff to her death after she climbed a barrier to go to the toilet during a night out at a Bali beach resort.
Alina Kuroczik, 23, had been partying with friends at Suluban Beach in the South Kuta district of the Indonesian paradise island, when she left at 1am and walked up to the cliff top.
Police said Alina chatted for 20 minutes with her boyfriend Gabriel Junqueira, 21, but needed the toilet and climbed over a barrier.
When she stood back up, the holidaymaker stumbled and slipped backwards, falling some 262ft to her death, officers say.
Gabriel alerted lifeguards before police arrived at around 1.40am and spent two hours recovering the body, which was found with a number of broken bones and wounds at the bottom of the cliff face.
South Kuta Police Chief Nengah Patrem said: 'Due to the conditions around the dark, the victim did not realise that she was urinating on the edge of the cliff, and when she got up, slipped and fell to the bottom of the cliff.'
Alina had been staying at the Pecatu Guest House when she went to the party with a number of friends.
When she walked to the edge of the cliff, her boyfriend became worried when she did not return.
