Record-breaking Russian powerlifter pulls 312-ton crane using only his shoulders and now plans to move a ship weighing as much as the Eiffel Tower

A Russian powerlifter pulled a 312-ton crane using only his shoulders and now plans to move a ship weighing as much as the Eiffel Tower.
Ivan Savkin, 32, shifted the machine for five feet setting a new record for the heaviest object pulled by a man.
The muscleman, who has been named the strongest person in the Russian far east, moved the crane along railway tracks on his second attempt after it got stuck the first time.
He has previously pulled an airbus, a passenger ferry, an electric train, a diesel locomotive, an air defence missile system and a variety of tanks.

Savkin used a shoulder harness and a special ladder attached to the tracks for traction during the stunt in Livadiya in the south of Crimea.
He then dedicated his feat to the third anniversary of Russia's annexation of the peninsula.
The strongman managed to move the crane on his second attempt after its wheels got stuck in the railway tracks on his first attempt.

It was transferred to a different location for him to try again and that time he succeeded in pulling the huge machine.
Savkin's next ambition is even bigger - he plans to move a ship that weighs 8,000 tons.
A video of his achievement is racking up thousands of hits online with comments hailing the powerlifter's strength.

Mr Savkin grew up a frail child and when he reached his full height of six foot four inches he weighed only eight stone 13 lbs.
That was when he began working out at the gym and taking up weightlifting - he now credits powerlifting with changing his life.
