And a few jaws dropped at the show at the Oxo Tower as a woman displayed a huge orange tentacle outfit which took over the whole runway.

The show was put on by fashion events company On|Off and the looks were created by London-based designer Jack Irving.

His work has included creating costumes for the X Factor as well as working with avant-garde pop superstar Lady Gaga.

Irving says he wants to create 'cosmic worlds for alien showgirls to parade through'.

His website said his mission 'is to engulf the world in the most fantastical spectacle, incorporating all elements of theatricality with a love for colliding technology with live performance'.
