Drain the education swamp: College students’ tyrannical behavior must be stopped
Washington Times ^ | Dec 13, 2017 | Tammy Bruce

How many conversations have we had with our friends, family and co-workers wondering what happened to the millennials? We expect a new generation to have new ideas and new ways of approaching the world. So how do we explain when a new generation is steeped in bullying, complaining about hurt feelings, demanding “safe spaces,” and using pride in fragile egos and weakened emotional states as the excuse to condemn free speech?

There’s more than one swamp eating away at this nation. The ignorant and intolerant meltdown of students is brought to us by a “liberal” education system determined to replace teaching with propaganda and logic and reason with unmoored emotion.

One of the more recent examples comes from last week. College students in New York were thrown out of a student-run coffee shop because their “Make America Great Again” caps violated the “safe space” rules. The offending students were accused of being fascists and given three minutes to leave the premises.

More results are now knocking at our doors. The Federalist reports, “Nearly half of American millennials (44 percent) would rather live in a socialist society than a capitalist one, according to a report from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), which relied on YouGov polling data. Even so, there’s widespread ignorance among millennials about socialism and communism.”

KEYWORDS:
The problem isn't the students. It's the educators who turned their institutions into Communist breeding grounds. Their ideology spreads like a virus when their students graduate and get into teaching positions at lower level schools. That's why we read about children as young as 5 being subject to propaganda lectures from their teachers.

Actually it is a pretty logical progression of what started with the 1960s generation or maybe even the 50s.

The generation that occupied college administration buildings in the 1960s and suffered no consequences bred the generation of 1970-80s that was able to get through high school without doing any work. “Just passing through thought I’d say hi”

The generation of the 80s gave us the X-generation of that grew up playing No Score Keeping Little League. Can’t bruise those fragile little egos.

Gen-X gave us our Millennials that are even more fragile still. Can’t have anyone disagreeing with us. Bring me my crayons.

If more Conservatives would become teachers, principals, and superintendents, it might be possible to retake the education system from the communist scum.

That being said, I am not holding my breath...

I attended graduate school in the early 90’s with the intention of becoming a nursing school professor.

That was when PC was first coming into full flower. As liberal as I was back then I was quickly disabused of any notion of making a career in academia.

We can't survive there. It's worse than being an honest man in congress.

I know, I tried.

The system itself teaches dependency and socialism.

“We’re reaping what was sowed.”

Yeh,for sure. It would stop. Immediately, if alum’s would stop contributions to schools. And, if parents would stop funding their kids who are majoring in and taking non-value-added courses. To the universities it’s all about the money....

The problem with Conservatives becoming teachers etc. is that, in order to do that job, one must credibly become the enemy. I thought about teaching once, but it required the teacher to teach propaganda, discourages students for doing original research, and relies on the teacher using standard paradigms tinged, nowadays, with strong emotions.

There is little to no learning going on and certainly no education at all in most of today’s classrooms.

Any war is won easier if fought on multiple fronts. As learned from the chinese patience and the long term goals of destroying America is working.

Destroying education and dumbing down the populace makes it easier to feed false data to the public and have it believed.

In my time as a teacher, I have not been required to do any of what you purport is the case. Maybe others haven’t been so lucky, but I don’t partake in the indoctrination in my class. My materials don’t propagate propaganda as far I can see, so I am fortunate (not that I would do so if it DID contain said propaganda).

That's why I stopped going to college (about the same time Allan Bloom released his book "The Closing of the American Mind").
