Notre Dame Student Leaders Bring Back Previously Banned Pro-LGBTQ Film Fest to Campus

The University of Notre Dame student government recently reintroduced a once-banned pro-LGBTQ film festival to campus, prompting a mix of support, controversy and condemnation, including a petition denouncing the event with some 16,000 signatures.

The “GlobaLGBTQ+ Film Festival,” held during the first two weekends of October at the private, Catholic institution, showcased films such as “Chavela,” “Inside the Chinese Closet” and “XXY.”

The films spotlight coming out, questioning gender identity, and other pro-LGBTQ topics. One of the films, “XXY,” includes a scene that has been described as child pornography.

“I am disappointed at this decision of so many campus groups to sponsor a festival, or celebration, of a vision of human sexuality that cannot lead to a flourishing of love in marriage,” Shaun Evans, president of Students for Child-Oriented Policy, told The College Fix.

The non-sectarian Notre Dame student group advocates for traditional marriage and raises awareness about the harms of pornography.

I suspect that this news wouldn't sit well with many donor alums.Maybe Notre Dame will feel it in the wallet just as the NFL is.

Where the hell is the leadership from the school to just say NO to this BS?

I'm a Yuge ND fan and was just there for the ND - UGA game. It's a wonderful place to visit, especially on game day however - you don't see this crap when just visiting for a day or two.

A failure of nerve results in the failure of the leadership of an institution.

As someone who seriously considered studies at ND, I wish to add this. When I looked into things, the college appeared to have been captured, hijacked by a Chicago gang of communistic “progressives” (sort of like the New Party and Obama) ...
who were against almost all Judeo-Christian/Biblical teachings. They installed a college president who articulated same. I decided not to go to ND, despite the fact that they had at least one scholar who I would have liked to study with. Looking back on all the pro-abortion and, of course, the honorific doctorate ND’s ruling clique had bestowed on Obama (whose ONLY political act of note at that time was an Illinois bill to legalize murdering babies after birth if the parents wanted them aborted)..... I am SO SO SO VERY GLAD I stayed away from ND! Anybody who sends their kids there, or gives ND money, is...imho, making a huge mistake. And you can find other football teams, too. End of rant.

In my case, it was for a purely optional degree and I finally decided to forego it. Self😁study is less efficacious but then again at the doctoral level it is often mostly that way anyway. 🤡😇😇😇😇😇 and later in life I came to grips with the thought that perhaps it was not meant to be But I sure wouldn’t send any kids to any schools that promote such evil values. A secular college can Okay imho, if it sticks to honest inquiry and isn’t a communistic or pagan Indoctrination camp. A parent concerned that their kids may still need some character or moral formation can select a school offering that, too. I’m no expert as to the current situation. Perhaps stubenville or? Here’s a list of someone’s thoughts about this for RC tradition—( I can’t personalky vouch for it, see what u think) and there are obviously a number of Protestant sponsored colleges where this pagan kind of crap is kept pretty much off campus , too. http://www.newsmax.com/FastFeatures/christian-colleges/2015/05/07/id/643203/

Notre Dame, Our Lady, must be sad.

Notre Dame used to be a Catholic university.

Who runs the school?

You have to ask? The students, of course. The administrators are cowering in the corner. The professors are brainwashing the dumb kids.

Maybe it’s someone that likes pornography. Anyone that knows homosexuals, knows it’s all about deviant sex with them. They base their whole identity around it.

I absolutely agree with you. I’ve a 5 yo granddaughter in SC, just starting a relatively conservative kindergarten in the NW. Wife and I have get to get out there to help guide whatever we can.

Moreover, I want to die in the South.

God help me if I’m stranded out here in God forsaken CA.

Understood. Californication has been largely destroyed and turned into an earthly foreshadow of Hell.

The formally Catholic school on the St. Joseph’s River is a fake and a disgrace. Jenkins has killed it and now there is no turning back.
