It is not the first time brain activity after death has been recorded.

Very interesting, wish there was more examples to the study. The article lists one patient up to 10 minutes of brain activity after cardiac arrest.
Actually, this is not surprising and for me only points more to the Brain being the true center of our being.
Death truly occurs when the brain dies.
Explains quite a few Senators.

The problem with Humanism/Existentialism is that when you die you return to “star stuff” and your consciousness ceases to exist. So, you study death to find out just how bad it really is, so this knowledge of a horrible annihilation can haunt your life.
But they refuse to acknowledge the evidence of God in all of their discoveries. They believe that the acceptance of God will prevent them from doing science because their dogma tells them that God and science are incompatible.
Very sad.
I think of the old 33 records....When it gets to the end....it just goes round and round but emits nothing musical. The disturbance of the body is like lifting the needle off the record.
For real though, this study is terrifying.
I may have to take a half day to cope.

I don’t know how anyone who makes a serious, open-minded study of the Near Death literature can doubt that some aspect of consciousness survives death - Raymond Moody, Kenneth Ring, Pim van Lommel, etc.

Because of Jesus, I do not fear death.
I ran a 5k once... came in 2nd to last. Ralph was ahead of me. After the race he came up and told me that the runner we beat was some 80 year old dude... the Lord did not make me a runner. I could run and had to during gym and boot camp etc... I could walk for miles.
Running just doesn’t feel good & natural to me.
Maybe I’ll die from not running... but maybe I’ll die anyway...
That’s just a defective record player.
Personal thoughts (just my own experience) are that it is probably accurate but is NOT terrifying (at least in my own experience). It is not something to fear. I had a near death experience seven years ago (direct result of a prolonged, violent attack). I died, I know exactly how I died, my wife saw me die and how I died (exactly matched what I knew happened), I knew I died. Yet..... I ended up alive (and deeply grateful for each new day to do something new) The main thing was it literally took me several months to reset to the fact that I was not dead. Because my brain knew I died.

Yes! A functioning record changer lifts the stylus & either drops a new LP onto the platter, or shuts the turntable off.
Hardly a metaphor for death. Sacajawea had me going there.
Anyway, death of the body is not the end of existence. The spirit lives on, its fate determined by the record of its bodily life. God is, and He will judge all.
