BERNALILLO, NM (KRQE) – Parents are concerned a teacher is pushing her political beliefs instead of teaching world history.

Bernalillo Public Schools Interim Superintendent Keith Cowan said the school district would take the appropriate action after a teacher’s political rant was recorded by a sophomore Bernalillo High School student on Thursday. It’s unclear what action is being taken against the teacher.

“If you have a history teacher teaching you that Trump is good then I feel really scared for you,” the woman said in the recording.

This is supposed to be a high school history class, not the place for this lesson in the first place. I was in high school when Watergate was THE news story and we were studying World War II. I do not remember Watergate being mentioned at school at all.

If history students are "analyzing" current political cartoons instead of learning a solid background in history, that might explain why so many young people don't have a clue about even major events in history.

And it would explain the “climate change” elementary school art display at the local mall a couple years ago.

I was in school DURING WWII,and it was never mentioned in history class,or any other class.

Even when we had air raid drills it wasn’t discussed.

Next step is to ban recording in the classroom. That’s my guess.

“If you have a history teacher teaching you that Trump is good then I feel really scared for you,”

What does that even mean? All the left has is Alinski tactics, name calling and character assassination. They provide nothing to the betterment of the country. This so called Teacher is a child.

I remember clearly that this slander all started by Cruz and the NeverTrump A-holes. The left picked it up and never turned back. I am just astonished at the degree of pure vile hatred to President Trump. It's insane.

One distinct memory I have of high school is taking a class called “Social Studies” and that we spent forrrrreeeevvverrr on the glories of FDR and the New Deal.

As part of the class the lesbian librarian had us watch an horrific documentary on Hiroshima.

But you’ll readily excuse it when your preferred candidate does it.

My 8th grade “Social Studies” teacher went on and on about McGovern. After Nixon clobbered him, she shut up.

The best class I ever had in high school was Civics. Our Teacher was a Green Beret, just home from the war and he showed us pictures he took of Vietnam and how it really was. Not what uncle walter told us nightly, particularly Tet.

I consider Mr McCrakens class to be the class in all of high school. It was real time history in perspective with Government duties and responsibilities. He didn't tell us what to think. We got it warts and all and he left it up to us to decide what we liked and didn't like about.

I would not be surprised. Hopefully students will continue to do it anyway so at least the parents will be aware.

That sort of stuff really irks me, our local school does not do that, but have seen it at other schools and at the county fair. That is not teaching, that is brainwashing.

“Obama was never very radical.... he didn’t make crazy statements, did he?”

Yes. He sure did. LOTS of them.

"I come before you [Germans] as a citizen of the world."

"Bitter clingers."

"You didn't build that."

"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam."

Lots of them.

When are we going to learn? Recording and revealing is great. Punching this retarded whore in the face if she isn’t fired immediately is the only thing that works.

Works to backfire on you of course.

The real issue is control of education. Who cares how many battles you win if the misfocus loses the war?

We had a U.S. history teacher who was Irish....thick brogue - had trouble understanding him.
He loved talking about Tammany hall.
Regardless what he was teaching, we would eventually turn the conversations to his favorite subject.
We thought we were too cute.
Test time ? nothing about Tammany, which we got him to talk about but everything about U.S. history which he didn’t teach cause we got him to talk about Tammany.
So much for wise guys....
