The daughter of century-old ex-Colombo family underboss John (Sonny) Franzese was thrilled Saturday after her long-jailed dads first day of freedom in eight years.
Im very delighted that hes home, said Loraine Scorsone after the 100-year-old gangster sprung from prison Friday spent the night with family at her Brooklyn home.
Franzese was the oldest inmate in the federal prison --SNIP-- Franzese was accompanied by his sons Carmine and Michael, a former mob prodigy once dubbed The Yuppie Don. A third son, mobster John Jr., became an informant and testified against his namesake in 2010.

Indeed. At first I thought, if the daughter is 100, just how old is this dad who just got out of prison!?
At one point, Michael's father was ready to have him whacked.
He subsequently left the mob and cooperated with the feds. Then he became a born again Christian and has been making an honest living as a motivational speaker since then.

Right. If the daughter is 100 years old, Dad must be really ancient; and just getting out of the pokey. Wow!
Maybe she should have a few people for daddy to whack at the party? You know, just like old times.
Is da mobsters where the term ‘whack=a=mole’ originated?
Leave the gun.
Take the cannolis . . .
According to the article his first arrest occurred in 1938.
The photo in article doesn’t look like he’s 100 years old.
He, Michael, spoke at our church in Virginia Beach about a year ago. His experiences were an amazing story and had the entire congregation hanging on his every word; a compelling testimony to faith.
Having heard his story before, I knew he was great but in the past few years, his message is even stronger, plus he has a book, "Blood Covenant," and a smaller pocket sized very strong message: "From The Godfather to God The Father!"
If you have the opportunity, buy either, preferably both!
I found his story to be much like other mobsters’ stories. Very inventive. It generally involves a guy telling another guy who tells another guy.
I remember reading a book where a mobster ratted and told the cops where to find dozens of mob victims buried. There ended up being 4 bodies found.
Thanks for turning the dialogue in the right direction.
If you check the second link on post #4, you will realize that the old man came to the Lord, so ‘whacking’ is not something he would desire.
Michael's struggles with his struggle to both find Christ and life as he attempts to live like the Savior that he writes about in the pocket sized diary, is very engaging and a good read for both the faithful and not at all faithful.
She looks pretty good for 100!!
lol
