The New Jersey state education assembly passed a bill Thursday that would require school districts to provide guidance on interacting with law enforcement officials.
The bill, which would begin with the 2018-2019 school year, would mandate that schools teach students about the role police play in public safety, obeying law enforcement officials, and a persons rights while interacting with a police officer.

I remember in the early 70’s in elementary school we had a visit from “officer Friendly”. No details. :)
This should be required to get a dime of federal funds. Obama should have told his supporters to follow the lawful orders of police, but he wasn’t willing to lose any street cred.
Our police academy is maybe 6 months. A couple of us attorneys were discussing that it should be 2-3 years long before handing someone a gun and the authority to do the work. So how about extra education for the candidates so they aren’t so jitttery once they are on the beat?
And by the way, here is what you tell your children. If a police officer wants to ask you questions—’I have nothing to say.” Also “I don’t consent to searches.”
Hand over your license and insurance and be polite. Keep your hands in plain view. Otherwise act like a mummy.
Don't lie to the police
Don't run from the police
Don't (ever) fight with the police
We now return you to your remedial reading and mathematics studies.
That’s what happens when parents don’t teach their kids manners.
I am going to put in a bid to teach this class.
I walk in, introduce myself, then write on the board:
BE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL
then say “class dismissed.”
This is like a class on learning how to breathe!
You left out - what part of “drop the gun” don’t you understand?
I once held my own class for my daughter. I arranged to have her pulled over by a friend who was a fed the day she got her permit.
She couldn’t see his face in the mirror and she was also really freaking out. He walked up and said “Do you like driving Emily?”
She slugged him in the gut.
That’s good kid, assaulting a federal Agent.

Obey the law.
Use common sense.
Stop immediately.
Turn that sh*t off.
Be Polite.
Shut the f**k up.
Get a white friend.
And last but not least.
Dont ride with a mad woman.
If you follow these simple pointers, you probably wont get your ass kicked by the police.
What a great idea! This is something that in a normally family the Dad would teach but....
You need to add: “Clam up.” And “don’t consent to any searches.” If they search without consent, that is their problem. Just stand there. But don’t consent.
Starts in the home! Period!
Actually, a great idea. To many get their views on police from Hip Hop and action movies.
It's really immaterial. Mainly because it is supposed to be Mom and Dad's job to teach that stuff. I guess we can see how all that turned out.
Not so much the stories of great men, leaders, presidents etc., but the history of and reasons for adopting, Republicanism over Democracy.
What IS a Republican, a Democrat, A Socialist, A Liberal (the dictionary is VERY helpful THERE), an Independent ... etc.
Our school just graduated 147 and not a ONE actually knows if they are R or D.
No instruction nor even indoctrination ...
except ...
They ARE Socialists by indoctrination.
They know all about gays and pollution and smoking and hugging trees and love and peace and .... etc. .... you get the picture.
Our school refuses to have ANYTHING political ... no R or D day for registration, not even an announcement to pick up a registration form at the office ..... NOTHING.
So we just turned out 147 potential reproducers of themselves just like their parents who graduated from the same school.
Parents too afraid to teach their own children because they are not qualified (Go ahead ... ASK em ! I DARE ya' ) ....
So they send their kids to the same school that made them stupid.
THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG IN AMERICA
When I was in elementary skool, they took my class on a visit to the town police station. Part of that involved seeing jail cells from the inside. It wasn’t a place that I would have wanted to spend any time in.
Of course, jails are different now. Thanks to liberalism, they are more like hotels.
And...
Don’t try to grab the cop’s gun.
Blue state trash...
