Anti-civil rights AG Healey is hosting two "town hall" forums in May, both in solid anti-gun towns (what courage!)
Attorney General Healey is currently touring the state hosting a series of open to all "town hall" meetings. AG Healey has stated that she wants to hear from voters of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and it's time for us to start asking her questions!
Take Action!
Please attend one of AG Healey's upcoming town hall meetings and ask the AG why she refused to comply to GOAL's FOIA request and why she ignored more than eighty legislators who wanted her 7/20 enforcement notice explained.
Notes - despite her claims she never responded to the FOIA or the letter, see below:
Her office did not provide a timely response to GOAL's FOIA request (as outlined by MA law), it came only after GOAL sent an official appeal to Secretary of State Galvin's office. Read more on this here
None of the requested documents were provided, her office chose to only share brochures supplied by firearms manufacturers with the purchase of a gun. Read more on this here
Her office ignored multiple letters from over eighty MA legislators, including this one from Rep. John Fernandes.
Upcoming Town Halls - both events begin at 7:00 PM May 2, 2017 - Tilden Arts Center, Cape Cod Community College Barnstable, MA
May 22, 2017 - Wang School, 365 W Meadow Rd, Lowell, MA Please note, you must RSVP to be admitted to these events. To do so, go to AG Healey's Facebook page and scroll down to "events" to RSVP. If you are not on Facebook please call her office and let them know that you would like to RSVP - (617) 727-2200

AG Healey Answers Some Questions, Not Others on Gun Directive
NEWTON Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey brushed back claims from a bipartisan group of Beacon Hill lawmakers that her office has failed to respond to formal written requests made last July seeking clarity on her directive banning so-called copycat assault weapons. Weve held numerous conversations with legislators and have provided significant information to them about the enforcement notice and our actions, Healey told New Boston Post on Tuesday. I continue to be available to answer their questions to the extent that there are any. Healeys response doesnt square with what House Minority Leader Bradley Jones (R-North Reading) told State House News Service after his budget amendment, one which called for withholding about $800,000 in state funds from her office until she responds to clarification requests, failed on a party-line vote.
