U.S. Strike Kills High-Profile Terrorist Leader (Mattis: Terror "Defames Islam"
U.S. Department of Defense ^ | 3/25/2017 | DOD Press Operations

Posted on 03/27/2017 9:08:14 AM PDT by Dagnabitt

The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed that a U.S. counter-terrorism airstrike conducted March 19 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, resulted in the death of Qari Yasin, a well-known al Qaida terrorist leader responsible for the deaths of dozens of innocent victims, including two American service members.

Yasin, a senior terrorist figure from Balochistan, Pakistan, had ties to Tehrik-e Taliban and had plotted multiple al Qaida terror attacks, including the Sept. 20, 2008, bombing on the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad that killed dozens of innocent people, among them U.S. Air Force Maj. Rodolfo I. Rodriguez and Navy Cryptologic Technician Third Class Petty Officer Matthew J. O’Bryant.

Yasin was also responsible for the 2009 attack on a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. Six Pakistani policemen and two civilians were killed and six members of the team injured.

"The death of Qari Yasin is evidence that terrorists who defame Islam and deliberately target innocent people will not escape justice," said Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis.

Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone who defames Islam that you meet.”

So disappointing.

Secretary Mattis sounds like a CAIR spokesman. Does he really see the role of the U.S. military as that of taking out “those who defame Islam”. Looks like the years in Obama’s DOD rubbed off on the guy.

Progress. “Defames Islam” is better than “has nothing whatsoever to do with Islam”.

Either that, or he's using reverse taqiyya.

I think Mattis has spent to much time in fancy tents sipping tea with Middle Eastern big shots.

Hey General...you spelled 'Defines' wrong.

I hope others are noticing that whenever the MSM would prefer not to use the word Muslim, they replace it with some derivative of the word terror.

This is the guy who described John Kerry as our 'valiant Sec of State'. Some mad Dog!

Has he commented yet on the 250+ supposed civilians our Air Force defamed in Mosul?

Mad Dog’s kowtowing to Islam will not win friends and influence people when they know (or believe) we killed more people in Mosul than did any single Russian strike in Aleppo

From the poem by the great Indian (American) poet Badger Clark which is on my profile page to remind myself of how Americans were far more tolerant of one another before Big Brother ran our lives:

“...I waste no thought on my neighbor’s birth
Or the way he makes his prayer.
I grant him a white man’s room on earth
If his game is only square.
While he plays it straight I’ll call him mate;
If he cheats I drop him flat.
Old class and rank are a worn-out lie,
For all clean men are as good as I,
And a king is only that. ...”

Mattis can say whatever he wants as long as he gets the bad guys. And he got a very evil one this time. The families of the dead have received justice. I doubt they are angry with Mattis and his CIC today.

But that's not the MSM - that's a DOD press release!

There's no media spin here. This is direct from the horse's mouth - our tax-dollar-paid Pentagon putting out the nonsense statement of what appears to be a PC-compliant Secretary of Defense.

Yeah, he should have said that all ragheads must die...

Or maybe, he’s just saying what’s supposed to be said, and he has a plan to kill terrorists.

I’m sure you’ve served your country better than Mattis...

Here's the good General blaming all of our problems on Israel despite all our valiant Sec of State is doing...

Wolf Blitzer: Is this Israeli-Palestinian peace process going anywhere?

Mattis: Wolf, that’ll depend on the protagonists and do they want it as much as I think our valiant secretary of state wants it and is doing everything possible. But I would tell you that the current situation is unsustainable. It’s got to be directly addressed. We don’t want to turn this over to our children, the same thing that you and I have lived with our entire adult lives. We have got to find a way to make the two-state solution that Democrat and Republican administrations have supported, we’ve got to get there. And the chances for it, as the king of Jordan has pointed out, are starting to ebb because of the settlements and where they’re at, are going to make it impossible to maintain the two-state option. For example, if I’m Jerusalem and I put 500 Jewish settlers out here to the east and there’s 10,000 Arab settlers in here, if we draw the border to include ‘em, either it ceases to be a Jewish state or you say the Arabs don’t get to vote—apartheid. That didn’t work too well the last time I saw that practiced in a country. So we’ve got to work on this with a sense of urgency, and I paid a military security price every day as the commander of CentCom because the Americans were seen as biased in support of Israel and that moderates all the moderate Arabs who want to be with us, because they can’t come out publicly in support of people who don’t show respect for the Arab Palestinians. So he [Kerry] is right on target with what he’s doing. And I just hope the protagonists want peace and a two-state solution as much as he does.

We Pay a Price For Backing Israel

He has to publicly say that stuff when we're getting cooperation from "moderate" Muslims like the Saudis especially given what's going on in Yemen).
