By inviting "alt right" (aka white supremacist) darling Milo Yiannopoulos (known as "Milo") onto his HBO show Friday night, Bill Maher could've seized a great opportunity to expose Yiannopoulos' history of hate. After all, Yiannopoulos has spewed so much toxic garbage that he was permanently banned by Twitter in 2016, which says a lot, considering the cesspool that swirls on that platform.
So when Maher faced Yiannopoulos on Friday, did the HBO host press him on his view that college rape culture is a fiction and that women are often lying when they report being raped? Did Maher ask him about his anti-Semitic comment that "Jews run the media," or did he ask why Yiannopoulos wore a Nazi Iron Cross when he was younger? Did Maher press him on his demonization of transgender people as, in essence, sexual predators?
No. Instead Maher actually bonded with the extremist author and lecturer on their shared anti-Muslim views. Yiannopoulos complimented Maher: "You're sound on Islam unlike most people on your show." To which Maher glowingly responded, "Yes, that's true." (Although when Maher remarked that all religions were "stupid and dangerous," Yiannopoulos pushed back noting that, as a Catholic, he thinks his own faith is great.)

Milo made a good point after the latest college riots over his appearing that leftists have lost their ability to debate. They can’t engage us on ideas. They resort to name calling, yelling, and violence.

Easy to see how Communist and other leftist regimes in the 20th century murdered 100 million of their own people. Given the ability to do so, is there any doubt these nutcases wold carry out similar ‘re-education’ and ethnic cleansing of us?
Milo is also a big threat to him.
Dems are trying to chop up the country and create ‘deal breaker issues’ where various groups see themselves as oppressed and in need of big government and the Democrats.
Milo is young, hip, gay, and confrontational. He appeals to young college audiences. He’s a good debater and he absolutely trashes the few leftists who stop screaming and try to engage him in actual conversation.

Ha! You and I have been around here forever, and I think ALL of us have missed the point. This isn’t a tussle between Democrats and Republicans or Liberals And Conservatives. I think what this all comes down to is a clash between people who have a sense of humor, and those who prefer to live their lives in a serious morass of darkness, in which they or their friends or people they know on Facebook are victims! Victims, I tell you!
We need to laugh at them. A lot.

Back a little before the election I saw an anti-Milo protest at some university where he was going to be speaking. The interviewer was trolling the clueless college kiddies. One young black man interviewed was actually very nice and tried to answer the questions as best he could. He had to admit, though, that he'd never actually heard of Milo until earlier that day when his "friend Jessica" invited him to the protest. Jessica had "informed" him that Milo was a racist and a homophobe, among other things. He couldn't give the interviewer any specifics, just that little bit that "Jessica" had shared with him. He didn't think a racist homophobe should be allowed to speak on their campus. Why the interviewer didn't point out that Milo is gay and that he prefers to date black guys, I'll never know. I almost felt sorry for the college kid, as he was clearly just a sincere little moron, probably hoping to get into "Jessica's" trousers later that evening.
