Earlier this week, OnePlus paired up with the French retailer Colette to release a limited edition all-black version of the OnePlus 3T phone. The device was only for sale at a single pop-up store in Paris and only 250 units were available, making it limited indeed. Today, the company is making it a little bit easier to get your hands on a black version of the phone, as it’s announcing the release of a midnight black version of the OnePlus 3T for online sales.

This black 3T lacks the Colette logo on the back, but is otherwise the same: it’s a blacked-out version of one of the best phones released last year and comes with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. It sells for the same $479 as the standard gun metal version of the phone, but it will only be available for a limited time at OnePlus’ and Hypebeasts’ online pop-up store, starting at 12PM ET on March 24th. A run of 250 units will be available on that date.

OnePlus says it went through great lengths to perfect the black finish on this device, claiming to have tested “more than 30 color iterations” and used “three carefully applied dark coatings 14 microns thick” which “maintains the natural look and feel of metal.” The phone is then subjected to two sandblasting treatments before getting an anti-fingerprint layer to keep it looking clean. (If you’ve ever handled one of Razer’s all-black laptops, you know how easy it is for fingerprints to mar the finish of a black aluminum device.)

That’s a lot of effort for what is basically a black phone, but the finished product does look rather nice. You’ll have to be quick if you want one, though, as OnePlus says it will only be available for a limited time.

In other OnePlus news, the company recently released the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T, making it one of the very first companies outside of Google to deliver 7.1.1 to devices. Included in this update is an improved electronic stabilization system for video, which the company says is now on par with the Google Pixel’s video stabilization system.

Update, 12:50PM ET, March 22nd, 2017: Clarification on when the Midnight Black OnePlus 3T will be available for purchase added.
