How to Get a Free Chromecast or Smartphone from Google Through Project Fi

It’s been a while since Google dropped the referral requirement for Project Fi, opening up its simple and cheap cell service plan to anyone—assuming you have the right smartphone. But for the next few weeks the company is pushing its customers to spread the word again, and offering some tech goodies in return.

You can take advantage of Project Fi’s holiday referral program to win a Chromecast and even a new smartphone. Here’s how it works.

How to Win Free Gadgets With Project Fi

Starting now through December 17, Google will track the number of successful referrals you make for Project Fi. If you hit two you’ll get a free Chromecast (typically $35). If you make seven referrals you’ll get Motorola’s Moto X4, a well-reviewed $400 phone with dual rear-cameras and Alexa support that also works with Project Fi.

To start making referrals, just log into your account on Project Fi website and find your unique referral link. Share it on all your social networks or send it directly to your friends and family and then hope for the best.
