The State Department is boycotting Trump’s Jerusalem policy
NY Post ^ | Dec 13, 2017 | Seth Lipsky

Now that President Trump has recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, what will the State Department do? It resents Israel and has been fighting the Jewish state for years. Is it ready to comply?

Don’t bet on it. That’s my advice.

Foggy Bottom is the worst swamp in Washington, haunted by the ghost of Loy Henderson, the diplomat who tried to defeat the very idea of Israel.

He lost decisively 70 years ago, when the United Nations voted to partition Palestine, clearing the way for a Jewish state. And, in May 1948, when President Harry Truman recognized Israel 11 minutes after it declared independence. He overruled the vociferous objections of the State Department.

State has dragged its heels ever since. It has sought at every turn not only to stymie Israel but to block any recognition of Jerusalem as its capital.

Now the question to watch will be the case of a 15-year-old American boy named Menachem Zivotofsky, who was born in Jerusalem in 2002.

Congress wanted him — and all Americans born in Jerusalem — to have the right to have their passport say they were born in Israel. (Now it only says “Jerusalem.”) It passed a law saying so. The Senate was unanimous.

Yet Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama refused to comply. State Secretaries Hillary Clinton and John Kerry were in the Senate that passed the law without objection. Even so, they fought Israel in court.

They should start at the top of the State Department and work their way down, firing or reassigning to Somalia anyone who thinks they are above orders from the President.

No surprises here.

The US State Dept. was originally opposed to Truman’s supporting the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.

Living in thier own fantasy world, the “Arabists” and do-gooders have consistently supported the Arab/PLO/HAMAS/Hizbollah narrative.

Their is deep sympathy at State for totally unrealistic proposals like the “Oslo” or Two-State fiction. The recent “Two-State” falsehood is really nothing more than the 1947 “Partition for Palestine” UN proposal that the Arabs (before we lovingly called them “Paleostinians”) of course rejected out of hand. You take an old, unworkable plan, reheat it in a microwave and reserve it under a different name.
You see, no matter how many times the Paleostinians claim they want peace, and it is offered to them on a silver platter, they say, NO.

So with all the highly educated and talented folks at State, why do they insanely follow loops going nowhere?

Oh, and then they blame Israel for (always applied to the Israelis and not Paleostinians) “intransigence” or “hard line”?

The Dept. of State is ALWAYS caught with their pants down whether it be the Embassy takeover in Tehran or the Libyan fiasco. They are never prepared or ready for...reality. Do they ever learn?

We have one president. Perhaps the Nazis in the Snake Department haven’t heard we had an election last year. They desperately need to be removed. Desperately. Come on President Trump, DRAIN THE DAMNED SEAMP already! We are cheering for you! Thank you.

Maybe they cannot fire these chumps, but there might be some gainful employment in Point Barrow, Alaska. That would be a great reassignment.

I have worked for several huge multinational corporations. I have noticed how bad things become generational. At one, the guy who started our division in the fifties was an alcoholic, cigar-smoking, loud, obnoxious, sexual harasser. I came along decades later to find the top level people, even though none of them had ever met the founder, were alcoholic, cigar-smoking, loud, obnoxious, sexual harassers. (They’d added a woman and she was louder and more sexually harassing than the men.)

At another company there was a department head who had been that department head for 28 years. He was about five foot two and approximately as round. His neck resembled the Michelin Man. One day I was behind his department of thirty as they all headed down to the cafeteria for coffee. About two thirds of them, including the women, were short and almost as round as they were tall. The exceptions were people he had inherited from other departments during reorganizations. I don’t know for sure, but I’d bet if you could have looked at their effectiveness rating that the short, round ones were consistently rated higher than the taller thinner ones.

At the same company, at some point they had promoted a head of Quality who was incompetent. Because incompetent people are threatened by competent ones, he promoted only nincompoops under him. Competent people left and incompetent people had found a place for rapid promotion. Over time the top guy was gone, but the entire department had become incompetent. There was no way to save or salvage it.

The only way to save a large organization poisoned by generational self-propagating problems is to gut it and start over. Even people that have been hired in lower level positions are likely to contain the seeds of the poisoned tree. They were selected for those attributes, not for the possibility they would flower into something that the man selecting them wouldn’t like.

The State Dept has OK’ed the sale of 12 billion in arms to Lebanon - this includes night vision goggles, several helicopters and advance communication gear. This equipment will, according to the State Dept help Lebanon defend its borders and stop terrorism.

Translation form Foggy:
Lebanon is run by Hezbollah which in turn is run and financed by Iran. Most of the arms will be immediately transferred to Hezbollah to help make up for some of their heavy loses in Syria, but will definitely be used to keep the IDF at bay on the Golan (defend its borders) and halt IDF incursions (stop terrorism). Some of the arms will likely find their way to the Iranian al-Qods troops stationed along the Golan in preparation for the up coming Iranian invasion from the north with Iranian, Hezbollah and various others, as Gen. Quasem Soleimani has now achieved the dream of Iranian access to the Med; only the hated IDF stands in his way of absolute control.

Meanwhile, the IDF is ignoring the whole problem and the US has grown bored with the situation and will be of no help until after the fact.

That tragedy was the fault of one Casper Weinberger and a sleepy Marine command.

I remember seeing the Marines come ashore near Beirut in 1982-83 with their M-16s in the air and...no ammo clips!!!

When I saw this I said, what? do they think they’re doing? They think the American flags on their shoulders will stop bullets???

This anti-Israel bias has permeated throughout the career employees of State over the years. I had occasion to do business with several embassies and always did my homework knowing the correct answers before going. I was amazed at the same holier-than-thou attitudes. They treated you like a dummy yet they were the ones who needed correcting - and were.

Trump and most of America is witnessing just how big the Swamp actually is. It infected the entire US Government and to drain it can take years.

First and foremost, Trump needs a legislative victory. Reducing taxes will drive investment and create millions of jobs. That will bring more people over to his side. At that point, hopefully starting January 2, the FBI and CIA will be purged. Then the State Department. The EPA already has been taken care of and the Department of the Interior is currently being taken apart.

All of this has to be done in a well planned, logical manner. Trump may have a big mouth, but one thing is certain, he is meticulous in his job just as he was in the private sector. He is not only book smart, he is street smart which is something the people in Washington do not grasp. He made his bones in NYC with the unions so he knows the game.

The state department has been a hotbed of communists and other varieties of anti-americanism since the 20s. Possibly earlier.
