Maria Crider was 11 weeks pregnant when she made the terrifying discovery that she had a lump on her left breast.

Three weeks later, the 27-year-old from Florida was hit with the news she had been dreading. Crider, who was already a mother of two young boys, had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Over the next few months, Crider fought a grueling battle to save her own life as well as that of her unborn baby.

After undergoing a mastectomy of her left breast and enduring multiple rounds of chemotherapy right up until the end of her pregnancy, Crider and her husband Brandon welcomed a healthy baby boy back in April.

Crider was able to watch the birth on a screen set up in front of her by the doctors.

'It's been an emotional rollercoaster,' she told HuffPost. 'I've been through a unilateral mastectomy, a planned cesarean, a salpingectomy, 16 chemotherapies, 25 out of 28 radiations. I still have ways to go before I can put this part of my life behind me.

'I hope it gives them the courage to talk to their doctors seek a course of action that's right for both mom and baby,' Crider said. 

'I want it to give them reassurance that you can go through certain treatment while pregnant. Logan is proof and he's just one of hundreds of babies born after chemo.'

Crider said she still cries every time she looks at the photos of Logan's birth.

'From the moment I met her, she has had this determination that she is going to beat this. It was truly an honor to be a part of her birthing day,' Hussey, the photographer, said.

'I can only hope she will be able to look back on her images and see how strong she truly is.'
