I decided to watch groundhog day today. With all the terrible acting these days and reliance on special effects, I felt like watching something with substance.

Groundhog Day truly lives up to the test of time and I find myself wondering why Ive never considered it as one of the greatest movies of all time.

This movie has great comedy, a wonderful storyline and Rita Macdowell is is amazing, her personality and southern accent, I love it.

I found the message to be powerful and the acting by bill was top notch.

Glad I decided to go back and watch it again..

What did you guys think about this movie?

Love the movie. Love it. Will probably watch it before xmas.
 
Can anyone reccomend me some good early 90s or 80s movies? Im sure I missed out on a ton. I haven t seen much in that time frame except like ghostbusters, back to the future etc
 
It was a good existential comedy. Murray was in top form, with a good supporting cast.

Fletch, Spies Like Us, Vacation, European Vacation, Roxanne, Blues Brothers, Scrooged, The Man With One Red Shoe, The Golden Child and Splash are some good ones.

It's probably my favorite comedy of all time. Bill Murray is my favorite comedian, and Groundhog Day was his best comedic work. It's also a great story with other great performances (as you pointed out). 10/10

My favourite Bill Murray movie. Saint Vincent is up there too.
 
I saw Groundhog Day in the theatre. I went there to watch Loaded Weapon 1, but I was under age, so I had to pick something else. I didn’t like it at the time. I was around 13. I love movie now and try to watch it every Groundhog Day.
