I'm not sure if most of you are old enough to remember seeing Jon Jones coming up in the ranks, but I was. I watched him climb the ranks and he did so ever so easily. Here was this kid that must have just hit puberty 3 years prior, beating grown men who were considered to be absolute bad-asses of the sport, but not only that, he made it look easy, like a walk in the park. Not one of them ever put him in danger. I hate to reference this term, but there's really no other way of describing it, he came in like a wrecking ball.

Fast forward 9 years later.

Here we have Darren Till.

Some might say it's too early to call it, but whatever's, I'm calling it. This is the new wrecker in the sport now. The way he plowed through Cowboy is unbelievable. He made it look like a sparring session for himself.

Line up and he will go through them one by one. I don't care who it is. Lawler, Perry, or even Woodley, Darren Till would beat them all.

Lets slow down a little. Cowboy is an over the hill lightweight on a 3 fight losing streak. Till looks good but lets see how he does against serious contenders.

Its a little early to Judge imo. If he did that to Lawler or MacDonald (if he was in the ufc) I would agree. It is waaaaaay too early to call for certain.

I can see it happening. I really like this kid and hes not a clown, seems to be very humble.

Possible

We wont know until he fights another contender bc Cowboy can be inconsistent

He looked like he belonged in the division against Lawler but i cant say that thats who we saw this weekend

I just dont know

But if Till does this again against another top fiver, then that might be just what we are looking at

It's easy to go against the grain if you aren't risking anything of value.

If you sincerely believe he is the next Jon Jones, you should be betting the house on his next few fights. But no one will.

Slow your roll and let things play out.

I don't see that, because he lacks Jon's wrestling ability, but this guy is definitely a future champ at WW.

He's the goods.

Yeah, if brutally KO-ing Cerrone early in the fight is that special, then Pettis, RDA and Masvidal are also the next Jon Jones.

Don't forget his draw with Dalby, who went on to lose his next 2 fights. Let's give him a few more fights. To get to Jones' level, he's also going to need some serious grappling chops...or at the least world-class TDD. I don't see him beating Tyron "Sleepfest" Woodley right now.

I will say that he's a good addition, though. The best UFC WWs are hitting their mid-30s (Woodley, Wonderboy, Lawler). Letting Rory go was a big mistake. They need some youth in the division.

You don't arguably beat Lawler of all people in a 5 round war of you're over the hill.

pump the breaks buddy, pump the breaks, the kid have a bright future but let not jinx him

Till has the age on his side in that division that's for damn sure.

Till has had drama in his life

He HAD to move to Brazil because he was getting into too many fights at home

That being said, hopefully what's in the past is in the past

I'm more afraid of him becoming the next Dan Hardy.

Worth mentioning that he was easily handling Dalby, then his shoulder popped out and went into survival mode.

I have this feeling too, what can I say call me crazy.

Classic sherdog. He lost a few, he's over the hill.

Dude just fought to a split decision with Robbie Lawler that could've gone either way and looked great in that very fight. Be easy on him, I agree he didn't look good against Darren but Cerrone didn't even watch tape on him.
What do you think what happens when ANY fighter goes in there with Darren Till and does not watch tape on him? He gets lit up because you need to prepare specifically for Darren, he has a very elusive style, weird stance, pinpoint accuracy - but he fades late, so if you can take him 3 rounds he is definitely beatable. He is a fast starter though, and Cowboy is a slow starter. Lots of factors in this bout.

his stand up look impressive.. movement speed.. easily evading everything cowboy had to throw. but i think he can get wrestler fucked

I bet there will be plenty of drama if he does become champ.
