Let us decide right now whether or not Mayweather is still in his prime. I don't want to hear any hindsight revisions if McGregor wins the fight.

Why am I making this thread? Because many hardcore mma fans consider Fedor as the GOAT, but when you bring the fact that he is 1-4 inside the cage, they argue that "he was passed his prime" at age 33.

Basically, when Fedor was winning he was the best, but when he stepped inside the cage and started losing, out of a sudden, he is no longer in his prime. HAHAHAHA

So, is McGregor fighting a prime Mayweather or not?

He's no longer prime however he has that old man experience that would beat 99% of pros today. Safe to say he's beat all the top guys still.

Follow up question: Considering Mayweather is not in his prime, are McGregor's chances of winning increased? Will this be a factor in the fight?

If you're about to shoot a man in the head, does it really matter whether they're 10, 20, 30, or 40?

Of course his chances are increased, but it won't be a factor.

Did Fedor lose to mixed martial artists that never had a single pro MMA fight?

No. Probably not far off it though. Either way a McGregor win will be "Beat a past prime Mayweather" and a loss will be "Lost to a past prime Mayweather". So it makes no difference in the fight end.

Nope, but he is still one of the best boxers in the world if not still the best.

But if conor wins,it will be all u hear oh i was retired etc, conor couldnt touch an active boxer

What kind of asinine question is this?
It is a question that needs to be asked, because if by some crazy luck Conor wins, his army of fans will claim that he is the GOAT boxer, because he beat the GOAT in his prime (that Joe Rogan logic).

There is a lot on the line with this fight.

Nah. I think if Conor wins, the story will be Conor is the greatest fighter/boxer ever. People are just waiting to crown him.

Fedor lost to Matt Mitrione. That is emabarassing. Like I have stated in previous threads, a GOAT should have enough skills to overcome a 2 year age difference versus a fighter who only started mma in his late 20s.

There is no way you can start playing basketball at age 28, and at age 38 be able to beat Vince Carter (who is 40 and not even GOAT caliber).

GOATs have transcendent skills. That is why Floyd could fight young guns past age 33, while Fedor was collecting loses past age 33 (which is relative young for a heavyweight).

Conor (who is worse than an amateur) is fighting one of the best boxers ever
prime or not

Conor is getting an ass whooping

Prime Floyd beats nearly any boxer in history.

80% Floyd beats any fighter outside of Can and GGG today.

60% Floyd gets very interesting.....
