Here's a quick list of all movies watched by the SMC. Or if you prefer, here's a more detailed examination.

@Scott Parker 27 decided to switch it up this week. Instead of rehashing his same picks from last time--like he did last time--he's got four all-new films for us to choose from.

His reason for choosing these films?

Let's get some fun, not so stuffy straightlaced films back in the club.

Here are our candidates!

Death Race 2000 (1975)

Director: Paul Bartel

Stars: David Carradine, Sylvester Stallone, Simone Griffeth

Premise: In a dystopian future, a cross country automobile race requires contestants to run down innocent pedestrians to gain points that are tallied based on each kill's brutality.

Trailer:

Iron Sky (2012)

Director: Timo Vuorensola

Stars: Julia Dietze, Christopher Kirby, Götz Otto

Premise: The Nazis set up a secret base on the dark side of the moon in 1945 where they hide out and plan to return to power in 2018.

Trailer:

Young Guns (1988)

Director: Christopher Cain

Stars: Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips

Premise: A group of young gunmen, led by Billy the Kid, become deputies to avenge the murder of the rancher who became their benefactor. But when Billy takes their authority too far, they become the hunted.

Trailer:

Day of the Animals (1977)

Director: William Girdler

Stars: Christopher George, Leslie Nielsen, Lynda Day George

Premise: A battle for survival as hikers encounter a chemically imbalanced forest.

Trailer:

I'm hating two people right now with a burning, violent fury that nearly cannot be contained.

B Movies have an art unto themselves too shadow. Gotta relax and forget about all the technical stuff and just enjoy the ride sometimes. Who the hell had this idea, were they high, who financed this??

I guess I'm being a dick.

Thanks for humoring us, even though its not your thing.

Also, I should point out that it's not that I have a problem with B-movies. Bloodsport is a B-movie. Cat People is a B-movie. Tremors is a B-movie. I love those films.

But there is something specific about the low-budget, exploitation films of the 60s and 70s that I find particularly off-putting.

Did you know that you just ignore my PMs sometimes?

Dude you sent it 20 minutes ago. Give me some time.

Also, sometimes? As far as I know this is the only PM you've sent me that I haven't responded to.

Lastly, to those wondering, yes, me and shadow are rigging the poll behind the scenes;)

Well I've sent a couple of "official business" Club PMs out to everybody and that you never chimed in on either.

Hmm... I think I remember one PM that you sent out that I never responded to simply because I was so busy and when my time was liberated the discussion was pretty much done and done so there were no point in me adding anything onto the fire.

I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean for the first time in like 14 years, I actually forgot that it was entertaining as fuck...that being said, I want to watch something entertaining and not something I'm gonna have to really concentrate to get through, hence my pick

The first one's great but the sequels--at least the ones I watched, I eventually just quit the series--were pretty underwhelming.

Together, we can do this!

Am I too late for an auto erotic asphyxiation joke?

I've been meaning to watch Young Guns recently. This is good timing for me.
