When you rate something it's all about relativity...why do you think Obamacare is so horrible?

20 million people have Healthcare that didn't before Obamacare that alone pretty much trumps people's personal complaints about prices. As a whole the American people are "healthier because of Obamacare.

Obamacare in a vacuume is garbage. Americans should have a much better national healthcare plan for being the most powerful nation in the world but as long as people being sick is such big business that is never going to happen.

If Obamacare is a "disaster" , what Healthcare system isnt? What Healthcare system would be better and what chances does that plan haven of being passed into law?

We have seen what the Republicans came up with after 7 years of trying to repeal Obamacare and it wasn't a plan that covered everyone for a fraction of the costs like promised, not even close!

The Republicans healthcare bill was so far off from being "great healthcare" and so far away from getting there they have all but given up on creating or fixing a bill that is.

I have to wonder what people are expecting to be happy with if they think obamacare is a "disaster"

The better question is: How does healthcare in the country actually work? The entire kit and kaboodle from insurance, to drug research, to government funding, to medical professional training (not just doctors but all of the support staff), to the business of hospitals, etc.

If a person doesn't have a solid answer to that question then they're not likely to have a great understanding of why any specific policy is/isn't horrible.

Well, Like I've said a million times here, since ACA's inception I've seen higher premiums and co pays (much higher) and everyone where I work had to take a lesser tier plan. Forgive me for not being enthusiastic.

But hey, foodstamp Freddy and Disability Darlene get a good deal, so its all good, right?

IMO, the big problem with universal care in this country is the rush to throw it together as quickly as possible to please a voter base.

I'd prefer to know there is a working plan on the way in a year rather than a hastily thrown together plan that we know isn't going to work.

So I'll ask again...Obamacare sucks compare to what?

What we had before was better that had 20 million less insured people because some people's prices increased?

I was better off before ACA. Call me selfish if you like, but I put my family before the needs of other. ACA hasn't been any benefit to me, my co workers and the ability of my workplace to grow has been seriously hindered.

My insurance for my wife and daughter cost my workplace nearly 40k last year. I don't even make much more than that (yes I'm poor. haha). How can my workplace continue to hire and grow when they're faced with paying for a family plan like that?

Obamacare quoted me at $350 per month for strictly health coverage. This was after being on hold for 2 hours. They only let you enroll for a brief period.

$350 per month for a 28 year old male who couldn't be any healthier, is just insane. I get fined $650 a year for not having health insurance.

I make a lot more than you and my insurance hasn't changed at all. My premiums and out of pocket are same, policy is the same. My woman makes less than you (a lot less) and she's now able to get coverage thanks to the marketplace.

So just like you don't care about how it's benefited my household and millions more, I don't care that it hurt you. How would a statement like that make you feel?

Obamacare isn't necessary to force people to have insurance. There's other ways of doing that.

And how many of those 20 million are actually paying for their insuranc? I'm sure most of them are getting government assistance.

That's understandable that you feel "you" were better of before ACA and that might be true but do you honestly believe your government should pass law based on what is personally best for YOU?

Is the only things you will be happy with are laws that are best for you individually?

Thats great for you. I'm glad you're doing well.

I'm stuck with the plan I have because its what my work provides. I honestly have not met one person who pays as much for coverage as I do. I've had people accuse me of making the number up.

In all honesty, I didn't even really realize how much it had gone up until I did my taxes last year. The deductions used to be pre tax for us but now they show up on a W2. The increase in cost has absorbed most of the pay raises I've got in the past couple of years.

If its good for you, then great. I just can't pretend to be enthusiastic about it. Basically I got shitty coverage for more money so that deadbeats could have affordable insurance. Tell me where the + is for me. Tell me why people who have seen the same don't have the right to say "WTF?"

Cigna. I have Cigna health, dental & life insurance for $114 a month. That even includes accident forgiveness.

I get you are being sarcastic but isn't that the point of being in a society/nation?

You support your fellow americnas and they support you through govt programs liek the military, police, fire etc.

What other ways? There is what we had before, the ACA and what the publicans came up with and they decided to keep the ACA.

Obamacare hurt the working middle class. That's never a good thing.

In a perfect world yes. But not the country we live in where millions have been conditioned to exploit public assistance.
