Just watched Sanchez versus Diaz from 2005. That seems like a long time ago now, but at the time I remember thinking the UFC was already huge...Sanchez was on TUF and I thought he was going to smash everyone, and Nick was the same old Nick. But watching it now it seems so amateur and low-key, and Goldie and Rogan seem so wet around the ears... It's been just over 11 years since that fight and I can't believe how much things have come on... no TUF will ever come neat that TUF though!

Shoot watch Royce vs anybody and tell me how far it hasn't come

Yeah I remember those days...first fight I saw as a teen was when Gary Goodridge got that dud in the crufifix...but we all knew it was the wild west back then. When this fight happened they had Big John, Buffer, Rogan and Goldie and it just seemed HUGE. And it really wasn't even then...

Went from barely legal to mainstream in about 22 years (93 to Ronda blowing up)

Yeah, been watching since 2004, and it was still in its dark ages then compared to 90's.

They don't say it's the fastest growing sport for nothing!

Pretty much. There are still plenty of similarities.
I wish they would go back to the big entrances. Ones that fighters design themselves.
I'd like to see them be able to wear their own designed shorts

Now go watch UFC 1 and really take it in

I was never really a fan of the UFC until 2010.

I kept saying their technique was sloppy, perhaps I wasn't exactly wrong.

"...come neat that TUF..."

Then watching UFC 208 made it look like someone had put the finishing touches to their time machine and tried it out, in a cruel and twisted joke.

You mean how b4 it was awesome. Different styles, steroids, entrances, actual stars. Now its a buncha garbage. 135 pound forigners whos names i cant pronounce, woman fighting (i shit you not, they put em in there. Calling it fighting might be a stretch but theyre on EVERY card) i wish we could elect a new president of the ufc to make mma great again

Yea they were the freaky starting years more or less. Before that it was just the wild wild west.

To be honest I think we are still in the leather helmet days of the sport so to say.
