Lee Hodson sparks bafflement after wearing Rangers shirt without a badge... in wake of row with Puma

  • Lee Hodson wore a Rangers away shirt without a badge for the trip to Dundee
  • But a club crest then appeared on his shirt for the second 45 minutes
  • Rangers' poor form in the league continued as they were beaten 2-1

Rangers fans were left bemused when only 10 of their players took to the field with the club crest etched on their shirts for Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Dundee.

Lee Hodson emerged onto the pitch in the first-half without the famous Gers crest on his red and white chequered away shirt for the Scottish Premiership clash.

The incident sparked bewilderment amongst Rangers fans in the wake of their row with Puma that has been ongoing since the start of the season.

But Hodson then poured more mystery onto the situation as he emerged for the second-half with a club crest magically sewn onto the shirt.

It is just the latest episode in a tumultuous few weeks for the Glasgow giants, who announced that former manager Mark Warburton had resigned only for him to refute that claim.

The row with kit-manufacturers Puma began in August when new kits went on sale despite the opposition of the club.

The sportswear firm announced the release of the new home, away and third strips amid calls for a boycott by Rangers' official fans' group.

The club said at the time they were 'surprised and disappointed' that kits had been manufactured for sale amid their ongoing dispute with Sports Direct and its owner, Ibrox shareholder Mike Ashley.
